Summary:
This house is full of character and is conveniently located 2 miles from Downtown and 1 mile from WakeMed Hospital. Home is nestled in a quiet and walkable neighborhood. This 1947 beauty sits on a 3/4 acre lot with beautiful, mature crepe myrtle and magnolia trees there is plenty of room in the yard to play.

Our rules regarding pets: we happily allow up to two dogs but do have a pet fee of $100

The Space:
This large and historic charming cottage has fully updated bathrooms with custom tile work. The home is eclectically decorated by film enthusiasts. The upstairs bedroom at the top of the stairs is lofted as it does not have a door but it has a full bathroom with shower. The bedroom on the other side of the stairs with the 2 twin beds does have it's own door.

Guest Access:
Guest's have access to the entire home, front and back yard and parking space for up to 5 cars. if for any reason guests were to need more parking space, please check with the host as additional parking is accessible. The owner's do have two closets that are locked and the garage stays locked as well.

The Neighborhood:
The Charming Craftman Cottage is located in the King Charles neighborhood in downtown Raleigh. We are minutes from The Alamo Drafthouse and Movie Theater, multiple restaurants, shopping areas and grocery stores.

Other Things to Note:
Linens and towels provide for 8 guests and 5 beds.

The house has been decorated by a film enthusiast which is reflected in some of the art work and posters. The art work is eclectic and not to everyone’s tastes.

Raleigh stay.
The house was good. No real problems. The lighting/electrical might need some work. Some days the lights would be normal but most days they we dim. Very dim upstairs. The forth bedroom was really not usable unless you have small children. Overall for the price and our 3 week stay it was livable.

GREAT SPOT for Raleigh Downtown visit
Had a family reunion with members who live in the Raleigh area. The house accomodated our party of 6 with a dog. We met at this Lord Berkley location and traveled to nearby destinations and the Marbles Museum. All was very convenient. The property is an older home, but nicely renovated, very charming and adequate for a family stay. Highly recommend. Note: There is a children's playset pictured in the backyard, but it actually belongs to a neighbor, is not on this property.

Owner overcame obstacles
When we arrived, the housekeeper was still cleaning because previous guests had made a mess. Molly worked with us to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The property is older and lacks some of the “luxury” features of more expensive houses but it was clean enough. Don’t go in expecting a hotel level of service. Was the house absolutely spotless? No. It has seen some wear and tear so there is going to be some dust in the corners and under the heaters. We went in with that expectation, which is why I gave it 5 stars. The kitchen is a bit cramped but had everything we needed for our stay.

This is a really neat place. Very interesting collection of artwork! The property is in a terrific location near almost everything. My son got married at Walnut Hill and we had the rehearsal dinner in downtown Raleigh. This place was perfect. It is near almost anything you can image. We found a nail salon, a hair salon, groceries, take-out food, and Starbucks, all very close by. The house is nestled in among trees and vegetation. We even saw a deer one morning from the kitchen window. There is plenty of parking and the front porch area is great for sitting and visiting with friends/family. Molly is very accessible and responsive for questions and concerns. We would definitely stay here again!

Eclectic Charm & Modern Updates in Raleigh
What a sweet, sweet home with eclectic charm and modern updates to accommodate our family visiting for a Raleigh wedding. The home was clean and offered many amenities. Large front and back yards, mature trees, and patio seating allowed us to be outside and enjoy the warm weather. This property is so convenient to downtown Raleigh. Less than a block from New Bern Ave, it is minutes from the heart of downtown, an easy drive or Uber ride. The bedrooms are large, very comfortable & plenty of space for a family or a multi generational group. The full kitchen had everything needed to cook & enjoy dining. Great for some small entertaining, peaceful neighborhood, big squirrels in the backyard for pups to chase! The beds were comfy & we loved the modern bathrooms.

Good for a place to crash
I really appreciated the size of this house, which had multiple porches and plenty of communal and private spaces. The updated bathrooms were perfect, the beds were comfy, and the temperature worked well. It was great as a place to get cleaned up and sleep after exploring the city all day. However, I wouldn't recommend this house as a place to spend a lot of time/cook big meals. The kitchen had a bad smell, we saw multiple cockroaches, and the functionality of one of the appliances was misrepresented to us (the property manager, who was good at communicating, knew the oven was damaged but didn't realize it was completely inoperable and ultimately gave us a partial discount). If you're looking to book this in the near future, I'd reach out and see whether the oven has been repaired yet if you plan on using it. Otherwise it was a quirky, quiet and spacious place to stay and I appreciate the prompt communication.

Good things.... Large space,, updated bathrooms.. Beds were comfortable. A little disappointed with overall condition. Upstairs carpet had black footprints. Drain cover in upstairs shower was missing. Ants on kitchen countertop were annoying. Found roach upon return from late dinner out. Artwork needs to be updated/removed Kitchen outlet by toaster was loose. Handle on oven door was missing/broke. Slight odor when first entering. Sorry this is my honest opinion
