Nestled in the woods, this beautiful & spacious mid-century masterpiece features large windows, hand-selected furniture, and original art. Enjoy the outdoor space, too — gas grill, big deck, front patio, and babbling creek. Sleep in and stretch out in the king beds. Cook a meal in the fully stocked chef's kitchen w/gas range, and eat around the giant marble table (seats 9). Fast WiFi for work-from-home, Sonos Stereo system, 2 TVs. 10 mins to UNC, 5 mins to Whole Foods. Not your typical Airbnb!
The entire Mid-Century house — designed by architect Goforth — sits on a wooded acre that overlooks a creek in a natural setting. The one-level home wraps around a central courtyard and large Japanese maple tree. All 3 bedrooms have really cool king bed frames with great mattresses and superior linens. Massive living room, a formal dining room, a breakfast nook, and a fully stocked kitchen. We've thought of everything. You know how some Airbnbs are sparsely decorated and supplied? Not this one. As a recent guest wrote in their review, "each and every room is comfortable and well decorated." This is not your typical Airbnb!
With Fiber internet (404+ MBPS), a 65-inch Sony TV w/ Apple TV, and Sonos stereo system throughout, it's an entertainer's dream. Perfect for working from home or simply relaxing by yourself or with family and friends. And if quiet time is what you crave, turn off the electronics, and sit in one of the many rooms (with 4 couches!) to read, relax, and put your feet up. Or draw a hot bath, light a candle, and enjoy being pampered.
LIVING ROOM
The large living room features a wrap around couch from Room and Board, Moroccan rugs (bought during the host's travels to Marrakech), live plants, and (host's) eclectic book collection. 65" Sony TV with Apple TV for Netflix, Hulu, Prime, HBO, etc. (No cable.) Most apps are already installed with profiles loaded for your viewing enjoyment.
DINING ROOM
The spacious dining room is appointed with a large marble dining room that seats 9! Perfect for working from home, having a casual meal, or hosting a dinner party. With solid pine paneling and the home’s second brick fire place in this room, the dining room is elegant and rustic at the same time. Open the slider back onto the back deck, or just take in the view of the trees from the large windows. Watch carefully and you might catch a deer or even a red shouldered hawk in the backyard!
EAT-IN KITCHEN
The galley kitchen features a gas range and new stainless steel fridge with ice maker. Fully stocked with spices, pots and pans, etc. and everything you'd need to make a gourmet meal from home. (Or relax and have your food delivered!) Another smaller marble dining table with Eames chairs (design heaven continues!) sits just off the kitchen for casual meals. This space also includes a leather couch, perfect for relaxing with your morning coffee or talking with family and friends who are busy in the kitchen.
MASTER BEDROOM
The spacious master bedroom features a king bed with luxurious linens, hand-picked art, and a small seating area. The linens, art, and textiles in this room are reminiscent of California, where Erin, your host, spent many years. The Master has access to a pass-through bathroom that also opens to the kitchen. This bathroom has a walk-in shower with upgraded rainfall Delta shower head. The vaulted ceiling and transom window overhead bring in lots of light and overhead space for a lovely showering experience. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are all supplied for your use. Lots of very hot water for those who care!
SECOND BEDROOM
The second, smaller bedroom features a California king bed in case anyone's tall and needs extra room to stretch out. The closet has a dresser. This room also has a Roku TV for those who like to watch TV from bed.
THIRD BEDROOM
The third bedroom is large with a lovely view of the backyard. Also features a West Elm bed frame with king mattress and luxurious linens and down pillows. This bedroom also has a couch for morning lounging and curtains you can draw if you want to sleep in. Some mornings, deer and even hawks and owls play in the back yard near the creek. The indoor/outdoor feel is not one you often get.
THE MOON ROOM
A small seating area sits off the kitchen, where you'll find another luxurious couch (this one from Resource Furniture) and a collection of magazines for reading and lounging.
SECOND BATHROOM
The second bathroom has a combination tub and shower. Both bathrooms have bidets.
OUTDOOR SPACE
The large deck out back connects the living room and dining room and has bench seating throughout. Walk off the deck and down to the creek. Gas grill also available!
You’ll receive a door code for self-check-in. Arrival instructions will be sent the morning your reservation begins.
You’ll have the whole house to yourself. I’ll be available by text to assist with any questions or concerns you may have during your stay.

Restaurants, cafes and bars are also nearby and only a few minutes away. 10 minutes to downtown Franklin Street/UNC campus. 25 mins to RDU airport.
The home has several fireplaces. These may be used with prior permission only.
Due to the expensive items in the home, it is generally not suitable for young kids. If you'd like to bring young children with you, please get in touch so that we can make sure this will be a good fit for all.
Due to the fact that this is an older home from the 70s and that it sits on wooded acre in NC, outdoor bugs may sometimes find their way indoors, especially if the deck sliders are left open. The house is regularly treated for pests and is thoroughly and professionally cleaned weekly.
