This is a decent hotel, but the listed rating of 4,8 is a big, BIG exaggeration and really misleading. The rating should be 3.7-3.8 the most. Hotel is in a modest residential area, nothing interesting around. The 25 min. walk to Colonial Center is through the streets which do not look too good, are barely lit and ere empty after dark. Not advised to walk there.
The biggest issue however is the HEAT in the rooms at night. The rooms have really low ceiling (maybe 6.5-7 ft), and warm up pretty quick when people are inside. There is NO Air-conditioning. The only ventilation, a window, is to the internal patio, which is small and covered by glass roof. Fundamentally this is “greenhouse”. Queretaro has a mild weather, 85F in the day (Summer) and 70-65F at night, but for the rooms without any opening to the outside, it take many hours to cool off. The temp in room is 80-85F most of the night, it is v. difficult to sleep. I was waking many times at nigh, sweating.
I guess, most hotel’s tourists are from other areas in Mexico, where now (Summer) is much warmer, so they do not mind this heat at night. But for US and European tourist it is a major problem. I do NOT recommend this hotel for any US, or European tourist, until they install A/C in rooms.
