Nice hotel but a bit away from the beach
Motel is a bit away from the beach but the bus is easy to catch, is less than $1.00 and runs often. Then it was about a 5-10 minute walk off the main road. Nice rooms and staff was friendly. Free breakfast buffet was great!

Very beautiful garden setting
The unit was set on a slope with lush tropical gardens, it was up on a hill and very quiet. The staff were very helpful.

Not very good, but the price was right
The first staff member we encountered was very rude to us. He was the first Costa Rican we met who was not nice to us the entire week we spent in the country. It was especially disappointing for us because we stayed here for the last night of our honeymoon.

Stay away
I paid way too much to stay there. I stayed 2 nights when I arrived the woman there had a hard time finding our rooms. The room had a bed with one sheet and no towels. These are little cottage type rooms. There were a large amount of bugs and no see-ums in the room. The only plus side was the air conditioner and shower worked. It was quiet. The restaurant is open in the morning and that's it. There is a small cafe around the corner which was convenient, polite, good food, and reasonably priced. So here is the deal on the towels they will give them to you but make sure you keep an eye on them otherwise it is a ten dollar charge per towel. The best thing to do is when you check out is to bring them to the office with you so no one loses them on the way. The hotel is a few miles away from Manuel Antonio and a mile away from quepos. Cab rides can be a little pricy to and from town the bus is a better deal. I guess there is supposed to be some trails but I never saw them. Definitely not a 3 star hotel. Be careful walking on the road because it is narrow and people drive way too fast

Dont stay at the Villa Teca
Hotel Villa Teca was horrible. The customer service was barely available and when it was it was ridiculously unhelpful. It took them 40 minutes just to find our rooms. No room service. No food options. No bar. Pool was unclean. At the end of our stay they ripped us off and charged us for towels they said they couldn't find in our rooms. The only good side to this hotel is that it is located in the rain forest. This hotel is not walking distance to the beach. I would suggest finding another hotel closer to Manuel Antonio.

Terrible Hotel
This was by far the worst hotel we stayed at the entire time we were in Costa Rica. Our experience started when the desk clerk tried to rip us off for more money than we paid on hotels.com. Then I had to drag my bags down a mountain. Then the room worst of all was DIRTY!!! Dirty towels, dirty and hairy sheets, dirty bathroom, dirty floor. Got bites from a whole bunch of spiders and there was a hole in the celling that a lizard crawled through, who knows what else lived in there. Don't stay here.

Villa teca hotel - leaving in the wardrobe
Extremly small rooms with no privacy as u hear 100% what your neighbours do - basically they took each medium size bungallo and splitted on 2 with thin wall - unspeakable! Breakfast is very poor - no buffet, very slow water is bringing u your small portion of food.. Very greedy people own this hotel... Not to be extremely pessimistic - the scenery is quite beautiful, nice pool, everything looks rather new.

Hotel Villa Teca in Manuel Antonio
This hotel is about 10min walk from the main road, which is great if you want to be in a quiter place. There are lots of trees near the cabins and you will wake up to the sound of birds. Also it is common to spot iguanas on the roof of the cabins and monkeys playing on the palm trees. The included breakfast has a small serving of fruits, eggs, toast, plenty of milk, coffee, and orange juice.

Monkeys and pools and breakfast! Oh my!
The rooms were a little basic, but the pool and the layout (villa style) are quite nice. Also the price for what you get, with breakfast included, is pretty great. The pool was very nice. The restaurant staff were great also. Not to mention, we had monkeys climbing in the trees within the hotel villa almost everyday! Some of our best monkey sitings from our trip :)

A Gem in the Jungle
This hotel was quite simply wonderful. Outstanding customer service with a smile. Such friendly staff and they were very quick with anything we needed. There were literally only 2 drawbacks: 1) There is no internet. This particular item is obviously only necessary if you are someone dependent on being in some contact with the regular world via email on a regular basis; otherwise, the wi-fi on my iPhone while traveling around sufficed. 2) While the beds were enormous and, overall, very comfortable, it was a little awkward that the reason they were so enormous was because they were actually a Queen mattress and a Twin mattress simply pushed together on one giant box spring. Depending on how active you are in your sleep, the occasional break between the mattresses could seem annoying. But it certainly wasn't something I would classify as awful. Beyond that, every other aspect to the hotel was lovely. It is nestled like multiple little cabins spread out on a mountainside. We were stationed in one of the higher cabins, thus making the view on the rest of the hotel simply beautiful. The pool is open 24 hours a day and was clean and warm (though it was definitely warm because the weather was pretty hot to begin with!). The main restaurant is a covered, but open-aired beauty. The free breakfast is just fruit, juice, coffee and toast, but I don't like huge breakfasts, anyway, so it was always nice. Plus, the ripeness of the fruit was always spectacular. Man, I wish it tasted so good in the States! I know all the hotels have brochures for tours, etc..., but the hotel staff was so quick to make phone calls about anything and everything you might have questions about or need. And, again, all with a smile. It is, of course, helpful that my wife and I both speak fluent Spanish, but I saw other guests who were treated with the same outstanding treatment as ourselves. The location is also a short and very safe walk (at any hour of the day) from other restaurants such as La Hacienda. Otherwise, the hotel can call you a cab (cheap) to Quepos or Manuel Antonio for other resturants (I recommend Agua Azul and Kapa Kapa). Anyway, normally I wouldn't go into reviews with such detail, but I really loved this place. Special shout outs go to Elias the restaurant/bar operator at the hotel who was just such a pleasure. And the guardsman who walked the property at night (just in case!) was also a delight (though I forget his name unfortunately). I highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are Lousy
Outside is nice with lots of trees and occasional visits by monkeys, birds, iguanas, and sloths. Rooms are not very convenient and lacks the usual amenities. It was definitely not worth what we paid. It looked like this place just opened for the tourist season and were not prepared to take in guests. The restaurant was open only for breakfast and they did not provide full breakfast eventhough our reservation said full breakfast included. There was no telephone, coffee maker, drinking water, etc. in the room.

Not All that We Expected
The rooms were very sparse and not quite up to the standards that we had expected. The food is expensive and low quality. We noticed several other hotels with nearly identical accommodations in better locations that charged less for the stay. The staff was friendly, but the hotel is not one we recommend.

Nice place with good service
The hotel was nice considering the price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is possible to walk to and from the Quepos city center in 15-20 min and the bus stop for going to the beaches in Manuel Antonio is 5 min from the hotel. We stayed for three nights while doing various activities in the area.
