This is not a 4 star hotel, at best I would give it a 2. Why?
Room Cleaning: ignored a request (hanging on door) twice. I then had to 'front' to cleaning staff for towels and rubblish removal. I was embarrassed. Twice.
Food/Breakfast: Donuts were tough and chewie. Scrambled eggs had dark patches in them.
Food/ Dinner: Steak was inedible. I had battered fish and chips. The fish was not battered. It was crumbed and then deep fried. It was terrible, dry and tasted awful.
Bathroom: black marks on the floor; poor water pressure .
Balcony: peeling paint and black mould in the concrete wall blocks. The balastrades between each room in front of balcony had black moss all along the tops.
Room: when we arrived the room smelt damp and mouly. We bought a room freshner to improve being in it.
Room kitchen: only instant coffee. No bodum.
The hotel was dated and tired. The restaurant was closed apparently due to staff shortages, but according to other reviews, it was also closed at least a month ago. Had to eat in the bar.
We stayed 6 days because we were unable to move elsewhere. Add to this we are a couple in our 70s. So everything was that much harder.
Spent two nights at this property. Had a non smokering room which we thought was great as none of us (4 adults) smoke however the entire room was stinking of fried fish. Quite a task getting rid of the smell. Other than this, our stay was quite comfortable. Room was a duplex, bedrooms upstairs and two balconies with lake views that was amazing to wake up to, basic amenities though no hair dryer or personal care kits. Parking was available on site though on first come first served basis so no booking or allocation. Would definitely recommend staying here, especially for the views.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
There was a plumbing issue in the washroom which resulted in water leakage from the sink. Also it was the exact same spread in the breakfast buffet across 4 days which was monotonous. Apart from those 2 issues everything else was fine. The location is excellent with beautiful lake views and access to public transportation. The town centre was walkable and the property had ample parking. Staff was friendly and eager to help.
We had the two bed apartment , amazing views very clean but in need of an update and the whole place needs freshening up re paint work and general fixing up. But those views are perfection. Pros: the views and location. Cons: Restaurant and Bar a zero as neither were open and for the price that needs to be rectified. Overall I would still recommend especially with family’s
Nice, comfortable motel for the price but don't eat in the restaurant. Grilled rib-eye steak was full of grissle and more like a small piece of stewing steak, the meal size was more suited to a child, very disappointing.

We loved the lake view from our Superior Lakeview Queen Room. We were also surprised to find a kitchenette in our room which was un-expected but useful.
The bus stop is right outside the hotel which is very convenient and a great way to get around Queenstown. It as a easy walk to and from to the shops / cafes and attractions.
The hotel needs some refurbishing but in saying that it is clean and tidy.
We would stay at this hotel again.

Great view and convenient location
Looks as if due for some maintenance
Sachet coffee was awful
Switch for beside lamp had fallen down behind shelf
Not recommended. Property and room is pretty outdated and this is not reflected in pictures. Location is good as it's a short walk to downtown Queenstown.
