Great Facility, Great Service, mixed experience
Pyeongchang - The Sky Forest Review:
Service: Well-intentioned and responsive, but difficult for non-Korean speakers. The staff asked a friend to translate texts for us, which worked fairly well.
Facility: A modern, cement tower with well-apportioned rooms, a restaurant-style space downstairs, barbeque area, and even an outdoor movie screen! Excellent view of mountain scenery. The staff kept mentioning an "information room," which I took to be a TV room. I was wrong! It's where the two staff members live. But a kids room may be added in February.
Room: Large room with single bed, tastefully decorated. Oversize Jacuzzi tub, no issues with electricity or water. There is a countertop storage area with some cooking tools, but we were told not to cook. No kitchenette. The Korean heated floors were far too hot for us, especially for kids sleeping on the provided floor mats.
Experience: Our room was comfortable, and the facility is in a great place. But we could not find a working phone number for the local staff, and couldn't find an address to put into our maps. We had to find the facility by trial and error; recommend updating the address and the phone number. A bunch of college students were making lots of noise on the wood stairs up to the rooms until about 2am, which was made worse by the lack of soundproofing. Despite all this, the staff were extremely considerate and we would consider staying there again.
