"We always enjoy our stay at the Lawns when we come to Retford to visit family and friends. The rooms are much bigger than average and there is plenty of wardrobe space. Lovely big towels and a good supply of hot drinks and bottled water.Extremely good value."

"Made us feel welcome at Reception, helped with the reduced rate car parking. Room in good condition, had the essentials we needed. Great & close location to The Engine Shed at the Uni, for a music gig. And no more than 10 minutes walk to the city centre shops and restaurants. "

"Had a two night stay here. Room was clean and tidy. Bed comfortable. Iron and ironing board, hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities all available in the room. Had a couple of problems-light switch not working and the plug in the sink got stuck. Mentioned them and they were sorted very quickly. The restaurant across the way was great for breakfast and dinner. All in all a great stay!"

"Very well located B&B for visiting both the high and lower parts of Lincoln. Useful arrival information provided beforehand. Room clean and comfortable with tv that works! We were one of the top floor rooms with great view. Bathroom good - wet room that succeeds in only getting the shower area wet and has good drainage. And warm. Breakfast plentiful and fresh. "The room was basic, but it was spacious and clean and the price was fair. We appreciated the ample free parking after several nights fighting for (and paying a small fortune for) a parking spot for our rental car. We walked into the cute village of Retford (maybe a mile away) and had a drink and snack at Rondo Lounge which was a neat place. The breakfast at the Best Western was fine for the price and the staff was friendly. I recommend it if you are looking for a safe, clean place to sleep."

"It may not be a 5 star hotel but I would give Tennyson 5 stars for the way guests needs are catered for. Entry was simple and effective thru key safe. the room was clean comfortable and warm - I returned from a meal at the local Wetherspoons (brilliantly converted cinema covered in lights!) to find the heating had come on and the room was warm as toast. "Set in an excellent caravan site with very nice lodges the stables gives very spacious accommodation. The two upstairs bedrooms are more suited for children but ok for adults when you get used to the restrictions the sloping ceilings have on showers etc"

Ideal Accommodation

"I was so pleased with this accommodation. I do not see how anyone could have said anything other. The host(s) were never seen, they did not interfere in anyway but were always available for any support. The accommodation had generous space, was exceptionally well kept and super clean. We selected the property based upon our busy schedule; it fitted in perfectly. Obviously a more remote, secure, peaceful center for our activities. We were visiting the UK from afar and everything here suited our needs. The hosts were perfect, had thoughtfully placed many small items ready for use, too many to list but their considerations helped with our stay and that was much appreciated, if we were to return to the UK I would opt to stay here again if I were given the opportunity. Again, many thanks for a well thought out property."
