Started well….terrible aftertaste
We recently stayed at this 2 bedroom 2 bath condo in Punta Gorda last week. It was a nice convenient condo that seemingly served our purposes well. The property manager seemed helpful and we got in with no issues. Midway through our stay one of us tried to turn on the shower and the knob came off…… we didn’t think much of it and we simply used the other shower the remainder of the trip. Upon leaving we told the owner what had happened .
Two days later we received a bill for 260 dollars saying that their plumber went by there and we snapped the shower knob.
Why would anyone snap the shower knob off?. I made it clear that either the knob was put in incorrectly or it was typical wear and tear but we didn’t feel responsible for the charge. I further brought up the idea that there were hundreds of ants in one of the bedrooms but we dealt with it .
The management company became hostile saying we broke it and we must pay for it.
I have no problem paying for something that we damaged but don’t appreciate being told that we SNAPPED a shower knob while attempting to use the shower. The owner further wouldnt address the ant issue when I messaged her trying to come up with a solution…. She claimed harassment and wouldn’t discuss the ant problem.
We will pay the shower knob for fear of retaliation but the charge is absurd. I would be very careful staying at one of their properties moving forwards as they are likely to find an issue to pass on a charge to you after the fact
