I like the resort overall and would definitely recommend it. The territory is huge and there are a lot things to do. At least 3 different a-la-carte restaurants in addition to the main one a couple of VIP places, like Quimera. The food selection is great, a lot of seafood for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A few bars open all day long, they offer mostly local alcohol, however, you can order imported drinks for an extra charge. A 25-meter swimming pool by the reception is perfect! From the down sides, there are also a few. 1. Check-in process took us about an hour between the arrival and getting to the room. 2. In order to get from lobby or deluxe room to the beach area, you need to use the road shared with the transport, if you want to walk. There are no sidewalks and huge puddles after the rain. Golf-carts are available regularly, but sometimes those are full and you need to wait 10-15 minutes for the next one. 3. The walkable trails and pavements are very slippery after the rain, as those are painted (I don't know why).

Hot tub was leaking. I called to report the issue. No one ever got back to me to say if it was fixed or not. So i went with out the hot tub the rest of my trip.

This was an amazing hotel. The property is quite big so there isn’t a need to leave the hotel. However if you do want to walk to the local shop it’s about 20/30 mins. Excursions were easy to book and worth the money. There are four restaurants but only one you don’t need to book which was a little annoying as we weren’t aware beforehand. You have to be quick as reservations go quick.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone , the estate is beautiful but that is it , you’ll be harassed in the beach and the pool side but outside guest . The dinner is alwful and had been sitting out for some time, the cleaners will come at 7.30 in the morning for you will have the someone moawing the lawn at 8.30. The staff do not care about their guest nor the service They provide. They say is a wellness hotel however I’ve been stressed since the moment I arrived.

The staff. We returned for the staff, they go to the sky and back just to please you! Maria, Hilario, Jose, Andrea, Miguel, Jorge, Maxwell, Alejandro, just to name a few, they are so professional and polite people. The luxuriant vegetation is maintained very well, the restaurants have all great food, the management team is down to earth, it was a ten out of ten for us, again this year. Trash containers overflowing, poor service quality, food not great. Check in took almost 90 minutes, and we missed lunch by 10 minutes. Our first room had a leak, water everywhere in front of the door. They asked us if we wanted to change room or keep this one. We said we wanted a room with no leak, it was apparently the last one available. So we were moved to a smaller room, with no apology or any kind of compensation. We texted our concierge to ask what it would cost to be upgraded to the Paradisus. He asked us to “come over” to the lobby. He was with other customers and he asked us to wait. After 45 minutes he told us to see with the reception (which he could have said at the beginning). The receptionist gave us a price that was outrageous considering how much we already paid for the week, plus the upgrade to circle, and the first impression we had that was really not great. After another unhappy customer told us to directly talk to the manager, we follower their advice and we got a “ok” discount we accepted. Our stay at paradisus was great, but my vision of Melia has now really changed. We stayed at the paradisus in Playa del Carmen last year, for 2/3 of the price, with way better quality of service
