Built by two brothers in 1924 and lovingly restored by the present owners, this bach boasts charisma and character. Located on a private section, sheltering right behind the sea wall and within minutes of the amazing Pancake rocks and the stunning Paparoa National Park, this bach enjoys an ideal location. Tasfefully decorated with plenty of iconic Kiwiana, this is the ultimate Kiwi holiday experience. Recently renovated it doesn't lack modern day comforts while maintaining an air of history, you will feel right at home. An abundance of activities such as kayaking, surfing, swimming, horse trekking and stand up paddle boarding await only a few minutes walk away.

Pounding surf
Great to get back on the Coast and stay in a simple cosy bach. We had good weather so took advantage of the day walks and enjoyed the sound of the waves pounding on the rocks at night. A comfortable chair to read a book in would have topped it off (Hint ;).

Like a trip through a NZ museum of memorabilia
We loved being able to spot our place to stay from the Punakaiki rocks with its bright blue colors. The heater was very effective and not long before the place was warm and cozy. We played board games and delighted in reading out comments from the visitors book. Great place to stay.

Gorgeous old school kiwi Bach
Throughly enjoyed staying in this iconic kiwi Bach. Decorated in kiwiana, sleeping with the sound of the sea, so close to beach and blow holes. Kids had a ball of a time, huge chest in lounge filled with games for when it’s raining, plenty to do in punakaiki. Loved it ! Can’t wait to go back
