We stayed for 6 days at Canto del sol, and overall we were very happy! Location is great! The beach in front of the property was probably one of the nicer beach areas. Not large, but clean and beautiful view. The food options were good, always different very day. The best part was the staff, so friendly and hard working. Property and rooms were always clean. Its an old resort, so look is a bit outdated , but beds were very comfortable. If i had one complaint, it would how thin the walls were. I did hear everything. But i would still come back and stay anytime.

I went with my partner and had a wonderful time. The staff were wonderful, food was excellent and with the VIP status we were able to eat at one of the 5 restaurant every night of our stay. Loved the Italian and Surf and Turf the best but all were great. Room was very nice and with VIP was upgraded to pool side and ocean view without even having to ask. Enjoyed massage right in front of the ocean and the New Years Eve evening was like nothing I have ever experienced. Amazing!! Hotel is also on the bus line that easily (and cheap) took us to both of our excursions near the marina and also to downtown to the romantic zone and boardwalk. Also felt safe and people were very nice. The only thing that you should know is the Pacific is much rougher then the Caribbean side so swimming at the beach is not always a great idea. Waves are fantastic to watch! Will definitely be returning.

This is our second stay at Canto. The food was very good but not as many options as our first time. The restaurant staff make your stay very pleasant. Miquel and Chewy are wonderful. Will be back

Its perfect as it has a decent buffet but not too many dining options. The Italian restaurant is not good. Dolce Vita downtown is amazing and highly recommended. Lots of dining options downtown. Overall it met our expectations! The pool is nice and beach is great and clean!

I had a very mixed feeling about our stay. For starters i book through expedia, after our red eye flight my girlfriend and child were very tired, when we got to the resort we were not able to check into our room for 5 hours because we were there so early. This was a mistake on my part but little to nothing was done for us. We also switched rooms 2 times due to poor matenince such as leaky roofs and toilets not running. This being said, the staff working there were fantastic our main issues were with the building itself and lack of cooardination from front desk, reservations and expedia. Food was also quite good, not the best ive had but pretty decent. If your looking for an authentic experience this resort is great but i hope in the future thy renovate and overhal the way they do reservations.

I need to preface this by saying the staff at Canto Del Sol are WONDERFUL! It was new to have only 3 vouchers for the all inclusive restaurants for a 7 day stay with Canto Del Sol. We were only able to book 1 reservation because they filled up quickly. On our first night, we walked up to almost empty restaurants that wouldn’t take us due to no reservations and the reservation desk closed at 5pm; our arrival was at 7pm. The rooms are very basic and quite bare. It was an adjustment having the bed on wheels with no locks. Although, what I MUST emphasize about Canto Del Sol is that the staff. Everyone was so kind, so helpful, and frankly just amazing. They made our stay worth it!

They never even had me staying in the hotel. They sent me to a new property called villas. It was not the hotel I booked. The dinner specialty got occupied and had no chance to attend until three days after I would leave. Food was soo poor too much waiting, room terrible. I will never be back in this place again. Would not recomend.
