The hotel overall was ok. I do wish the hotel staff told me a few more things about the hotel upon arrival. For example - the shopping strip, scuba and snorkeling from the beach, where the wifi actually worked etc.. Wasn't happy with the buffet, probably the most disapponting about the hotel. The phone did not work in the room. After it rained, which it did often in the morning, the room had this odor. The staff was helpful, friendly, always smiling, that was definitely a positive. One exception- the women in the gift store not so friendly. Entertainment was decent- pool and beach activities, shows at night...You are allowed access to the other two Riu hotels, in walking distance. There is a small strip near the hotel with a few stores and vendors where you can purchase items. Much cheaper than the hotel store in the lobby. Too expensive.
As far as the people who stayed there, many families with children, couples, and a handful of groups in their 20s. If your looking for an average hotel, not too expensive in price, all inclusive, you will be happy here.
