Casareyna is a well-appointed boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious. The restaurant is excellent and reasonable. The location is a little removed from the city center but walking distance.
Our recent 3-night stay at Casareyna was great except for the charges for coffee pods ($35 pesos each). You would think that a luxury boutique hotel like Casareyna would have a daily complimentary coffee as part of their amenities. However, their management decided to save some money by not providing free coffee during the entire stay, but charge their guests. We were baffled. The front staff felt the same way and agreed with us. But, they were just following management orders.
We’re hoping that the management would see this review and consider making the coffee fully complimentary during the entire stay to create an even more memorable experience. Perhaps provide a daily set of free coffee pods each day and charge anything beyond if guests ask for more. Sometimes a small negative experience is what guests often remember the most during their stay. Also, Casareyna doesn’t have a lobby per se. The reception room is quite small. We think it would benefit them and their guests to have a sitting area. They have a lot of dead spaces that could be turned into a nice lobby/sitting area.
We’d still recommend Casareyna. However, we want coffee drinkers to know and expect that they would get charged for coffee. FYI, you get 2 pods (1 regular and 1 decaf) during your entire stay.
