"It’s a Great Boutique Inn. We stayed on New Year’s Eve. Our room had a corner view of the river with sliding doors that opened up. It was nice sitting with the doors opened. We were however annoyed that on New Year’s Day they didn’t offer any continental breakfast even though they advertised it when we booked. Not even a coffee set up… The front desk said it’s a holiday so they didn’t have it set up. I get it but don’t advertise it. We asked the front desk for recommendations but they were not...

"Very nice unique stay. We stayed one night in the tower suite, and it was excellent if you plan to spend time in your room. Very modern bathroom. Beds were decent but not the most comfortable we’ve had. Service was very good. Restaurant was very nice. We especially liked the private sitting room on the top floor. "

"Very charming historic inn. Staff was nice and helpful upon check-in, and when i accidentally locked my key in the room. I booked the Bouvier room on the 3rd floor which was quiet and comfortable. Being a historic inn, I went in with the expectation that it would be low frills, which is was. But for the price, I think it's a great option for anyone staying in the Newtown area who wants historic charm and to be in the walkable State Street area. "

"We were greeted by a man in a tattered sweatshirt in the main house. Then We were taken to the room in a carriage house across a dark parking lot. There were no lights in the entry and there was an sunken entry to the room we nearly fell into the room. There were remains from the previous logger including dirty glasses and trash. It was dark and dingy. We had stayed in the main house 3-4 years earlier and went to look at an available room there. The hall carpets were stained and in bad shape,...
