I was mysteriously charged for a room I did not reserve, costing me an extra $260. When I contacted the hotel about it they explained that the reservation for my room and the extra room were made through Expedia so there was nothing they could do. I checked and indeed Expedia had charged me an extra room. Expedia's customer service is non-existent and it is impossible to get through to anyone. Even my friend who works for Expedia admits this.
Nevertheless the hotel did nothing to help me. I was never even told I had the extra room so I couldn't use it. (I was traveling with my daugher so at least we could have enjoyed the extra space.) Later I was told that the extra room was logged as a no-show. I thought that was odd since I was there and the receptionist spoke to me. I understand that this problem is due to a combination of Expedia's error and the hotel's unwillingness to help me. I am hesitant to stay a this hotel again until I get answers. Until that time I consider this problem both the fault of the hotel and Expedia and I am hesitant to use either again until I get a resolution and understanding of what happened. If it was my fault that's fine but right now I can't even talk to anyone at Expedia to get to the bottom of it. I don't believe I ever received confirmation by Expedia for the additional room (I didn't see any in my e-mail inbox despite seeing a confirmation for the room I actually did use and was happy to pay for.) I just want answers, Expedia
