Waypoint Cottage is ideally situated just two blocks from Prescott's lively downtown and riverfront--close enough to walk, but far enough from the trains and nightlife that you'll still get a good night's sleep. You’ll love the privacy of having the entire place to yourselves in this charming bungalow which has been completely renovated. There are three guest rooms, a full-bath, a well-stocked kitchen for preparing meals, and spacious gathering spaces both indoors and out.
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the amiable wrap-around front porch complete with a classic porch swing, our favorite spot for sipping morning coffee or a glass of wine before dinner. The living room is spacious with high ceilings and lots of natural light, reminiscent of the property’s origin as a one-room school house. Gracious furnishings and original artwork create a welcoming space for dining, game-playing, movie-watching, or just good conversation. The kitchen—which is stocked with all the necessities for serving meals including vintage Pfatzgraff dishes--has a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and central island. Sleeping spaces include two bedrooms and a finished attic. The master bedroom and the attic each have a queen-sized bed. The second bedroom doubles as an office and has a twin-sized day bed with a pull-out trundle. The full-bath features a vintage claw-foot tub with shower. There’s a fire pit in the fenced- in backyard and off-street parking for one vehicle.
A waypoint is a place where roads or rivers converge; in the case of Prescott, it's both. The St. Croix meets the Mississippi and Highway 10 meets Highway 35. Wisconsin meets Minnesota, and rural meets metropolitan. In fact, if you look up "waypoint" in the dictionary, you might just see a picture of Prescott! From Waypoint Cottage, you can explore all directions on the compass and find endless natural beauty, quaint river towns, and big-city attractions.
