This well appointed cottage is a new build in the style of the original 1890s Four Square house sharing the property and is four blocks to the Town Square and Courthouse. The original house has been placed on the historic register and lays within the East Prescott Historic District. The bricks are the original chimney bricks from the fireplaces and wainscoting on the walls have the original paint. The hall light fixture is original to the house and the bathroom light fixtures are from a 1800 cattle ranch in Australia. The pictures are 1960’s original watercolors of the Prescott and Arizona landscape. The cottage suite has a private entrance, a small covered patio shared with a old wood-burning cookstoves, and a welcoming purple door. The raised deck, bbq and fire pit belong to the main house. The courthouse square is a short walk and a great place to enjoy the beautiful courthouse and tall elms trees. Maybe enjoy an ice cream or a drink from the Palace balcony. There are art and craft fairs, parades, car shows, the famous Fourth of July Rodeo which boasts the oldest rodeo in the USA. A famous Halloween where they close Mount Vernon Street and young and old come in costumes to trick-or-treat! Christmas tree lighting in the park square and a famous boot drop on New Year’s Eve. Great hiking and three lakes to choose from. The beautiful tall elms and many Victorian homes dating to the 1880s. Three close wineries, whiskey tasting, mead tasting and a variety of pubs. Down the alley is Berry’s Pie shop where you can order a hot pie. There is a lot happening in this western town.
