"We had an upstairs room looking out over the bay. It is a strange arrangement with the bathroom room and small galley kitchen between the living room and bedroom and accessible from both. However it works just fine. The person on reception was very friendly and helpful. The motel is right on the beach and boardwalk and a 10 minute walk into town. Thoroughly recomment if staying in Gisborne."

"This Wainui beach Bach studio was perfect for my husband and I. Beautiful beach view, gorgeous beach just a few steps away. Our hosts Carnie and Ivan couldn’t have been nicer. Carnie contacted me a few days ahead to advise me of road closures and offered to put us up early to avoid the closure. There is some surf breaks on this beach so my husband was a happy camper. We hope to visit again as it is a special place. "

"The setup was perfect for us, no problems, suited us well.The bookabach platform pretty much sucks though, I would not have been able to communicate with the owner at all if I had not got creative and found their contact independently - I would use bookabach again only as a desperate act of last resort. "From arrival to departure we were very impressed with our treatment and the accommodation pod we had booked. There are only cafe facilities at the weekend therefore the need to travel for food and drink was unavoidable but it is only a short drive into Gisborne. The beaches close by are a surfers paradise so would certainly suit the adventurous person, though not myself. An all round excellent stay. "
