Overall the property is decent. However, there were 14 of us and the living space was too small for all of us to sit together to eat and watch TV. ( Not enough comfortable chairs either).
The main issue was that there was no information given in the booklet to adequately address the DISH network for TV use. The weather may have been some of the issue, since it rained off and on the entire stay; however, when the weather was clear, the TV was 'buffering' far too long, and even going off entirely. We never turned on any of the other tv's in or outside because of such poor reception. Our grandkids were hoping to watch the Thanksgiving Parade and some football, but to no avail.
The cabin was not as clean as I had hoped. Nor was The 'garage,' where the table tennis is set up; it was not clean at all - and the table tennis is in really poor shape.
We were told to purchase our own firewood as none would be supplied; however, there was a TON of firewood stacked along the entire length of the side yard. Not sure why we were not allowed to use it. ( we brought our own firewood)
There are some safety issues that need addressing; there were no written instructions as to what to do in case of a fire in the cabin - how to escape, etc.. As a matter of fact, there was no fire ladder provided for the second floor people to escape if needed. ( one of the guests is an engineer and noticed this issue).
If the owners get a better cleaning company and fix the 'network' issue for TV viewing, I could recommend the cabin for no more than 8 people, which is still 'tight' in the living space. Otherwise, the guests sit in metal chairs to visit/eat/watch tv. OTHER ISSUES:
The gate to the backyard would not close properly;
there was a place on the wall in one of the bedrooms that looked as if someone had punched the wall and made a hole in it.
The dishwasher is not anchored well into its place - when we loaded it to wash, it would tilt out of the wall.
The wire fence around the property was down in certain areas. I assume the fence is to keep out the deer, etc. yet it is in need of repair.
One more issue: there was an electric cooler upstairs filled with alcoholic 'beers'; it had been left unlocked before we came, and we had no key to lock it. I counted 18, and told my crew to leave all of it alone, which they did, since none of us drink alcohol at all.
Since we are a large family, we will try to stay at a bigger cabin.
