"This is not easy to find - tucked away in the hamlet above Canfin. (Drive past Candin for 1km and there’s a sign on the left). The hotel has beautiful outdoor seating under a thatch and lovely walks around. But what makes it so special is the quality of the cooking - they do an evening meal for guests, with full use of local products, especially the chestnuts and figs. We had spiced figs in our main dish of perfectly long-cooked beef, and home-made marrons glacé on our delicious lemon...

The floor to ceiling windows offer lovely views of the surrounding area and let a lot of light into the room. Toilets and shower facilities are spotlessly clean and there are washing facilities and plenty of space to hang washing. There's an on-site bar and restaurant, where they serve a pilgrim...
