Taigh Rob is 20 minutes drive from the town of Portree, however it has a nice view and with some attention to it's bathroom facilities ; may be good for walkers or cyclists. There were 6 people sharing the only bathroom, wet-room which also housed the only toilet for all 6 guests. Taigh Rob is not near any inns, pubs, shops, restaurants or cafes. The room was clean but up a difficult flight of stairs.Breakfast was passable.I doubt that this property will meet expectations of many modern travelers in it's current format.
Very cute, clean and well maintained B&B. The woman who owns it is very friendly. The breakfast that is included is very good. I really enjoyed my stay there
Absolutely perfect guest house. Location is absolutely stunning and the rooms are lovely and clean. Lots of little lovely extras too like bathrobes and slippers. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful little bed and breakfast on the Isle of Skye, convenient drive to most anywhere on the Isle. Absolutely beautiful view from our bedroom window. Comfortable room. There was a shared bathroom but it was not a problem. Lovely place, sweet staff. Would recommend.
Taigh Rob was spotlessly clean and the owners are a lovely couple ...breakfast was superb ...BUT ...there were three rooms sharing one bathroom which was not convenient ...6 people sharing one bathroom is not my idea of providing adequate facilities! The room was slightly larger than a walk in closet and the parking was a mud pit! I would not consider recommending the property to friends or family
The owners are so friendly and hospitable. Room was comfortable and so clean (everything was spotless!) only “complaint” was sharing a bathroom with two other rooms, though I knew ahead of time I wouldn’t have an en suite and only once did I want to use the bathroom when it was occupied. Also, it’s further out of Portree than I’d first realized, but also puts it in a lovely location.
Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. Our room, the Thistle room, was spotless and tasteful. The bed was extra comfy and provided a good night of rest. The owners are very kind and willing to recommend areas and will give you precise directions on Skye. They even suggested we take snacks with us on our journey when we left. 100% recommend.
The inchecktime was between 3 and 6., but we waited for half an our because the owner was late.
We knew upfront that the showen and toilet was in the hallway downstairs and used by all the Guest. What we didni’t knew was that the toilet was in the bathroom, so if you want to go to the toilet in the morning then you have to wait till other people have showerd
The shower was hanging low, so it is a hassle to wash your hair.
On the other hand was the breakfast good and the surroundings beautiful.
