My husband Matthew & I are from Indiana and decided to book VRBOs and bed and breakfasts for our trip to Maine. This property did NOT disappoint. Erna offers coffee and lots of helpful advice on places to eat in Portland *Matt n I trusted all locals and were never disappointed*. Her place is within walking distance to a delicious bakery and the Portland observatory *5-10 min, depending on pace* and you can also walk to the Old Port, which is what Matt and I did for two days.
I recommend whatever length of stay you decide to give Portland, add an extra day - the tours * Land and Sea* are well worth the price and you will also want time to try as many eateries as possible.
The room was the perfect temperature and the shower was heavenly. We were also able to wash clothes, which we needed as we are living out of a suitcase for two weeks. Anything we needed, all we had to do was ask. It was a great location, as you have to pay to park everywhere in the old port, and we didn’t want to do that. The location also has less trafficked cafes and restaurants so you aren’t competing with as many tourists for a fantastic croissant or cup of coffee.
We had a wonderful stay and I hope you choose to stay here as well.
