"Our group of 10 enjoyed our stay in Penafiel. The property is beautiful - gorgeous sunset, nice pool and a friendly neighbourhood cat. The kitchen has everything that one would need, although it could use a larger kitchen sink! We loved the outdoor bbq and pizza oven. The owner communicated well with us. We highly recommend taking the owner up on the offer to have the Portuguese cook to whip up some excellent Portuguese fare. "

"We spent two nights in August at this villa and would have liked to stay longer. It's well equipped and very comfortable, and although there were only three of us there is plenty of room for six people. The villa is about a 20 mins walk to the beach if you don't want to drive. Lucilia, our host was there at the same time and made us feel very welcome. Thank you for your hospitality - the confiture was delicious!"

"11 of us stayed as two families, with kids ranging between 13 and 7. We were so impressed with the sheer size of the property and the grounds. It was so spacious and immaculate. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything that you could possibly need. There were so many things to do around the villa, whether it was the pool, table tennis, table football, badminton or playing football, that no-one was ever bored. We ate in the villa most days, but got Ubers into Vila do Conde and Povoa de...

"We all had an enjoyable stay, the house was spacious, well equipped and in a quiet residential area with few shops, bars and restaurants nearby. The pool and garden were great for the kids and the metro nearby was handy for trips into Porto. Maria was a great host and very communicative, regarding any questions we had."

"The villa was very well planned, the bedrooms and the living room were separated, the living room voices did not come into the bedrooms, all bedrooms had their own bathrooms and there was also a shared toilet, the pool was warm, but the weather was bad, restaurants nearby, grocery stores a short drive away, everything was great except the weather :), Thank You Gilles and Joelle!"

"Dino and Ines were the perfect hosts, they could not have done more for us. On our first night they even took us out to a restaurant for a super meal before showing us around Povao de Vazim. They pointed out the local supermarkets, metro station, parking and took us on a tour of the town. The house had everything that we could have wanted together with bread, cheese, a nice bottle of wine and even a home baked cake. Dino sent us links for places of interest nearby as well as recommended...

"The location was very easy to find with clear instructions, and excellent communication at all times. We even had help from the owner phoning a local restaurant which was a nice touch. The garden was beautiful and the little pond even had three turtles in which the kids loved. Swimming pool was also great. "Nous avons passé une semaine de rêve dans la maison d'Orlando et Helena (4 adultes, une ado de 17 ans et deux enfants de 8 ans) Ils nous ont très gentiment accueillis pour nous expliquer le fonctionnement de la maison. Leur ami Miguel, très gentil lui aussi, assure la traduction et il peut être contacté à tout moment pendant le séjour si vous avez une question. Une table d'accueil avait été préparée avec des spécialités portugaises. Nous n'avons jamais connu cela dans nos autres...

"Lovely house, beautifully done up and rustic. Pool was lovely and exactly what we were after. Everything was so clean! Kitchen was superbly stocked including a welcome package of fridge necessities and fruit. The host also provided daily fresh bread which saved us a trip to the local supermarket (5 min drive)."

"Great location. If you want to walk, this is the place to do it. Beautiful and historic. Very clean but bed very uncomfortable. We also had little or no service during our 8 night stay. We had to find clean sheets and towels midway through our stay and change our on linens. If you don’t mind doing this, you’ll be okay. If you want service during your stay this place won’t make you happy. But again, locates phenomenal!"
