Afan Valley Holiday Home is an old Miners Cottage, built in 1901 set in the beautiful village of Cymmer – in the heart of the spectacular Afan Forest Park.
The area is popular with Mountain Bikers & Hikers due to the array of tracks & trails in the area – we offer secure bike storage for your stay.
The cottage is situated midway between the stunning sea views of the Gower & the Brecon Beacons National Park – so you can wake up and decide which direction to drive to, or stay locally for a walk or a ride.
Aberavon Beach is a 13 miles away also – so beach days are very much possible as well as hill days.
Please do note, the cottage is on a main road, so road noise is likely during your stay.
Please note, there are no stairgates fitted so if you think they will be required please bring travel stairgates with you.
We will accept up to two well behaved dogs by prior arrangement, £20 per dog per stay & ask that any damage is compensated.
Please also note that this is our home away from home - The house is an old Miners Cottage, built in 1901 & is a fabulous slice of Welsh history in itself. It has uneven floorboards that creak a bit upstairs, an original staircase that's a little steeper than newer houses, original stained glass in some areas inside the cottage - it's a fun space that has character inside & out - but it is not a Boutique Hotel, so please do not expect the style & finish of one - we think it's cosy & a great place to relax after a day out on the hills and hope you do too.
