Are you looking for a cozy escape, close to the beach? Mermaid Manor is the perfect stay for your relaxing Florida vacation getaway! Located downtown Port St. Joe, you will be just a seashell's throw from the beautiful beach and water. This beach-y, mermaid-inspired cottage is charming and welcoming, and offers all of the essentials for a hassle-free stay!

The property is set up for contactless entry. We will not be at the property in person and communication through the app is preferred.


Our neighborhood is full of other charming beach cottages and offers a quaint and quiet atmosphere. The home is centrally located in the heart of Port St. Joe, within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. You will be close to lots of outdoor activities, food, and entertainment options, including walking trails, live music, dining, shopping, the Sea Turtle Museum, the historical Lighthouse, and St. Joe Bay.


Guests will have access to the lower unit of our turquoise beach home. You have your own private entrance and your own private screened-in porch. You share communal yard with other guests.


Welcome to our cozy, beach-y cottage, conveniently located in the heart of Port St. Joe. The space is considered a studio apartment because it is the lower level of a renovated home. You will have your own private entrance that opens up to an open-concept living, dining, and kitchenette. Enjoy a movie on the comfy couch and prepare a delicious meal in the well-equipped kitchenette. We’ve included all of the basics to ensure guests are able to easily cook during their stay. You’ll find a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishes/utensils, cooking basics, coffee maker/coffee, toaster, double burner electric cooktop and more.

The bedroom is set apart from the rest of the unit but does not have a private door. It features a queen bed and there is also an extra area with a daybed, trundle, and vanity. The full bathroom is stocked with toiletries and plenty of linens. Relax on the private screened-in porch or enjoy star gazing outside by the fire pit.

Additional amenities at the unit include a fish cleaning station, a communal laundry room (free of charge), and an outdoor shower.


There is free parking onsite. As we are centrally located, guests can easily walk to many of the restaurants and stores downtown. The most convenient way to move through town is walking, biking, or driving. Please note that currently Uber and Lyft are not available in our area.


*Pitzer Properties owns 5 homes within steps of each other so it makes for a great multi-group getaway where each family can still have their own space and privacy, yet can be neighbors to their family and friends. Reach out to us directly for more details!

*We have boat parking available to our guests on a first come first serve basis.

*Please note that any VRBO and direct booking cancellations will incur credit card fees.

*Mermaid Manor is a great spot for an individual guest, a couple, or a couple with a small child who is looking for a central location.

*Our home allows you to self-check in and have your own private space, but we do have 3 other homes on the property.

*We are pet-friendly and have plenty of space to accommodate 2 pets. Our pet fee is $100. Please include them on your booking and the pet fee will automatically be added to the booking.

Recommendations to check out:
- Downtown is walkable and you will find shops, restaurants, live music, and more!
- St. Joe Bay is 2 mins away.
- St. Joe Beach is 7 mins away.
- Mexico Beach and Cape San Blas are less than 15 mins away.
- St. Joseph Peninsula State Park for access to the beach and the bay. It offers natural hiking trails, miles of untouched beaches, and access to launch kayaks or paddle boards.
- Salinas Park is a 15 mins drive away, where you can have the amazing experience of horseback riding on the beach
- If you are interested in wildlife and natural beauty, plan a trip over to St. Vincent Island by ferry boat for the day. Hike around the island and explore our native wildlife and foliage.
- About 30 miles away is the historical fishing community of Apalachicola. It's perfect for a day trip to do a little shopping, stroll along the Apalachicola River, or grab some of the best seafood around! You won't be disappointed!

Amazing Stay!!
This was an amazing place to stay for our weekend getaway. It was our first trip with our dogs and they had a blast. The house was very cleanly set up for a perfect stay for both us and our dogs. The beach was not far at all and was perfect for our dogs to run and have fun! We will definitely be returning! We met the owners on our first day and they were so friendly and gave us some great recommendations! Thank you!

Great Stay
My girlfriend and I stayed 2 nights a the Mermaid. It was very spacious, quiet, and nicely appointed. Everything was there that we needed to make our stay very enjoyable. It is close enough to walk down to the bay where we took in the sunset. The owner was very friendly and checked on us making sure everything was fine. This is a nice place to stay if you are visiting Port St Joe.

I really enjoyed the Mermaid Manor location. It was exactly as described, warm and cozy. I liked having the Kuerig and small kitchen. One thing I was disappointed about, though, is that the yard was not fenced all the way around, so I wasn't able to let my dog out without watching him. Otherwise, it was great!

In love with a mermaid
Oh gosh! We fell in love with Mermaid Manor immediately. It had such warm, inviting character with the comfort of home. Truly enjoyed the screened porch and patio as well. Great location. Quiet, but the singing birds added to the tranquility. It was everything we hoped for with more! Hosts were helpful. Certainly will recommend and not hesitate to stay there again!

It was such a pleasure staying at Mermaid Manor. Way over and above a hotel room. Bed was comfortable and all the small details were covered, from fluffy towels to shampoos, soaps and conditioners (plus a box for any items we may have forgotten). Cold filtered water in fridge was also a plus. Limited kitchen was perfect to fix coffee and breakfast at house before walking into town with our little dog, who by the way loved the soft bed left for him. I would highly recommend this cottage and would definitely stay again on our next visit.

Easy check in. Good communication, also allowed for a little early of a check-in. Cottage was cute and clean. Loved all the little extra touches including snacks for us and treats for the dogs. If you forgot to bring something, chances are it was there. Laundry on site. Close enough to town to walk. The only possible downside is we have a 3/4 ton diesel truck and the parking spot for us would have been really tight if there had been other people staying at the adjoining properties. There was not anyone else staying so it was not an issue. We would 10/10 stay at mermaid manor again!

Charming Beach cottage
Mermaid Manor is a first floor cottage that has a roomy layout plus a good use of old and new decor. Be aware there's another floor above and it was occupied with a family with a very active child. The house is tucked away in an alley, thus very private and quiet. Our old basset liked our place and especially the comfortable covered porch and yard. The location is close to the historic part of town . This includes shops, restaurants, police station, library, and tour options. Many places are dog friendly and everyone was so friendly and kind to our old lovable hound. We would definitely stay at Mermaid Manor again.

Gorgeous, well maintained space! They thought of everything!
We absolutely loved the Mermaid Manor! The space was clean, adorable and they really thought of everything! We picked up some oysters at the local market and took a gamble on them having an oyster shucking knife, and they certainly did! Along with a bbq pit and all the accoutrements necessary to grill them. We were also very grateful to have the option to bring our little old dog, she enjoyed sunning in the nice yard and made friends with the neighbors dog, too. The beach and downtown area was a quick walk away, and we also rode bikes to cover a little more ground in less time. When we had questions about the TV, the property manager was very easy to get in touch with. The only thing I would add is more hooks for hanging purses, towels, jackets, etc. We will definitely stay there again, or at another of their properties, when we are back. Thanks very much!

Beautiful house with a great patio and fire pit
Super close to downtown Port St Joe, adorable home, great hang out spot in the back yard with patio, fire pit, corn hole game, etc. Only one restroom in the unit though, no microwave, no dishwasher, only a small toaster oven. No doors between any of the rooms either, except bathroom. So everyone has to go to sleep and wake up at the same time. It’s also an older home with all-hardwood floors, with another rental unit on top of it. So noisy floors can be a thing that might annoy if you are home often and bothered by that kind of thing. Dog friendly and they even have a little box of doggy stuff if you forgot some things, like a decent size dog bed, some toys, etc… Wi-Fi was very weak signal downstairs because the Wi-Fi router was in the upstairs rental unit and these old houses were not made to let wireless signals pass through them.
