This place was perfect and private for just the 2 of us. We loved every thing about it! We enjoyed Indian Pass and looking across the water at St. Vincent Island.

Perfect for our needs. Very clean, great location. The beach itself is pretty narrow, but still room for a chair and an umbrella.

Construction going on in th unit during our stay. Construction going on units either side. Older unit needs repairs and updates. Good location - right on the water - mostly quiet.

Location and view are wonderful
This house is small but perfect for 2 people. Having 2 bathrooms was a plus but I wouldn't put anyone on the sofa bed for more than one night - it was pretty low quality. The kitchen is in much need of supplies. Glasses were in short supply (we had 3 tumblers) and only a few small pots. Fortunately we were planning to eat out for most of our meals but I would have loved to have had more to cook with. The stairs were mentioned in other reviews and they are indeed a climb bringing anything heavy into the house but I guess we needed the exercise. Everything else was nice and we enjoyed many hours sitting on the deck watching the birds.

Great getaway! The location is prime!
The location was spot on for me. Was looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway on the water and this fulfilled it! But this little cottage needs some TLC. Had some issues that I reported and they responded promptly. I got a good work out climbing the stairs!

Beach Bungalow - Crusty Crab
To start with the positives… The beach house was clean and everything worked (lights, TVs, dryer etc.) The house was the most private on the beach with trees on both sides, you could not see the houses to the left or right from the private deck. The negatives or areas for improvement… The house is very outdated and in need of basic repairs. The VRBO pictures show a grill in good shape. The grill was literally falling apart. The pictures do no show the 20+ steps you have to climb to get to the house. The steps are rotting and covered in mold which makes them very slippery and unsafe when wet. Be aware if you have access issues or must carry heavy luggage up to the house. The deck is in very bad shape. The wood is beginning to get spongy from decay. The outdoor shower, which is a shower head on a post, needs the valve handles replaced and the foot wash hose is dry-rotted and is useless. The screen door entering the house at the master bedroom needs to be replaced. The photos on VRBO and Vacasa are outdated. The dirty sofa shown in the photos has been replaced as an improvement but that is all. The toilet in the guest restroom barely flushes. The bedroom mattress needs to be replaced because it is sunken in the middle and two people cannot sleep comfortably. The kitchen sink faucet needs replacing and the sink spray nozzle handle was missing. Basically, this house was exactly what we thought we were getting. My wife and I affectionately were calling this house the Crusty Crab. It is old and crusty and a great place for a couple to enjoy. If some cosmetic improvements are made and the deck/stairs were rebuilt and made safer, this would be the perfect small beach bungalow that a couple and small families could enjoy…assuming you are in good enough shape to haul luggage etc. up the stairs. Best! C & S

Couples getaway
Great spot. Absolutely no crowds. Very very private. House could use some updates. As long as you don’t want to watch much TV, which we didn’t, you will be ok. Only local channels. Microwave did not work but we were fine with that too. Manager did offer to bring us another one that worked and remove the old one, but we declined. Had the house been a little more updated, it would definitely be 5 stars. But for the price, I would definitely stay again. This was a bargain.

Fabulous cottage for a couples get away. Perfect with upgraded everything? No. The location is spectacular, which makes it well worth it. Lots of stairs from the parking area, the house sits up on a dune. Fishing out back from the shore. Short paddle across Indian Pass to St Vincent's Island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful location on the beach. Home interior needs upgrades.
Small home perfect for 2 people. However, living room/dining area needs updated furnishings with more comfortable seating. Kitchen with exposed electrical cords and some cookware, drink ware and dishes with food residue in cabinets. Bedroom with attached bathroom had been upgraded and were comfortable. Shower/tub and shower curtain in bathroom adjacent to kitchen was dirty on arrival.

Cozy house with great view
We were looking to get away as all of our other vacation plans were ruined by the pandemic. We saw this location as being secluded and jumped on it. We were pleasantly delighted with our stay. The view was amazing and the house was the perfect size for just the 2 of us. We would love to visit this great location again someday!

Million Dollar view in a Fixer Upper Cottage
Fantastic location and view! Cottage is a diamond in the rough. Cottage needs major renovations inside and out. Except for the relatively new appliances, everything else is outdated: cabinets, wall-to-wall carpeting in bedroom, bathrooms (toilet is leaking in shower bathroom), light fixtures in kitchen cracked, no lightbulb in ceiling light in bath tub bathroom; nasty, dirty table and only one old plastic chair on deck; deck needs to be repaired and painted; the third step is loose going down to the beach almost causing my husband to fall; no water to rinse feet off outside by deck, no water for fish cleaning sink which is full of junk; discarded chairs and air mattresses on side deck, no gas in BBQ.

You can do better...
Ok.... so, this house was clean overall. However, it is a death trap, the two flights of stairs from the parking area and from the house to the water are severely dilapidated and rotten, some were loose and would flip up if you were not careful. The sewer line from the house was broken and dropping into the weeds at the parking area, which accommodated the WORST mosquito infestation I have ever seen. We literally had to throw our stuff in the truck when checking out and leave and find a parking lot to organize everything because they were so bad. You would be completely covered in a matter of seconds. Not to mention the smell of the sewer dumping onto the ground and the sound of the “plop” every time the toilet was flushed. You could see daylight all around the closed exterior door in the bedroom, so we had some interesting critters come into the room every night. The day bed in the living room was barely holding together under my young sons weight of about 145 lbs, so if an actual adult would have tried to sleep on it, it would not have held up. Most of the pickets for the bannisters were loose or missing so not a good place for small children. Whenever you flushed the toilet in the master bath, water would dump from behind the toilet onto the floor, which leads to the next problem, the bathroom floor around the toilet, pretty sure the only thing holding you up would be the old linoleum because the floor felt like you were walking on a sponge. I will probably contact the county and let them know about the serious health and safety concerns.

Wonderful location
Lots of stairs - 2 flights up from parking area and 2 flights down to beach. The property looks just like the pictures. Home is cheaply furnished but bed and showers are decent. Great deck SO close to the beach. Near boat launch so lots of boat activity to watch. Right across from the point of St Vincent island - the point is a bird sanctuary so off limits to humans. Just a great place to spend a week!

Relaxing an beautiful
We enjoyed our stay very much. We want to continue coming back. Really enjoyed being on St. Vincent Sound. The last day dolphins were swimming by within feet of us. The locals and visitors alike are friendly and courteous. Wonderful! Only suggestion would be to fix burners on stove top, they are all crooked. Thank you very much.

Awesome view and location make up for small negatives
First, those minuses... The place smells of cigarettes upon entry. It gets better once inside. It may be a smoke-free property now, but someone used to smoke. Second, the kitchen needs a deep cleaning. We don’t mind rustic or worn, but the microwave exterior was pretty gross, for example. Bedroom carpet was a bit funky and old. It’s a bit of a hike up the stairs from the mosquito-infested parking area, but we’re in decent shape and it was always rewarded with the view towards St. Vincent Island once you made it. Spectacular! Mother nature always provided interesting things to see with constant bird watching (including bald eagles). If you like shelling, this stretch of beach will yield many small treasures. The place also had good privacy. There are other houses nearby, but you wouldn’t know it. So overall, it was a good experience, but not great.

Great vacation
The cottage was beautiful right on the beach, the view was wonderful. It was quite and peaceful wonderful place for kids. I rated it 4 because of the stairs to the cottage they were hard to manage, but I am 68 years old with a bad knee.
