This was our second year in a row staying here during our nilgai hunt. The couple that runs the place are friendly and accommodating. Parking is easy and seems safe. Our room fit three of us and our pretty comfortably. The sofa sleeper is very uncomfortable as you might expect of a sofa sleeper so make sure you bring a bed mat. Walmart and HEB are across the street and plenty of food options around. You can also walk just a few blocks to the water, which is nice. We’ll keep staying here.

Small hotel was dated, but that was ok. It was like a small apartment. Great location, HEB and Walmart across the street am near the boat launch. Can’t beat the price of $55!

Room smelled like cigarette smoke, sofa bed had no bed liner or blankets at all. The tv needs to be upgraded because more than half the channels display a not compatible message and you only hear the sound. Lobby is always locked and have to use outside window, only three towels in room even though we had reserved for 5 guest. The bed was comfortable and the pool was good.

My only complaint is that the door handle on the door to get in the room wasn’t in the best condition. If we did not deadbolt the door, it was able to be opened from the outside without a key. We also had someone yell at us to close our front door when we were grabbing the key and walking out. Otherwise the staff seemed friendly. There wasn’t much interaction. They stopped in daily to drop off towels and toilet paper. Checking in and out was very easy. The motel was clean and was a good place to stay for 4 days. I will most likely be staying here again.

Great price for clean, decent room.
I needed a simple, decent place to stay for a good price, that had pay later option and this was it. The rooms are dated which is to be expected, but clean. I didn't see any critters or anything gross that would keep me from coming back. It was weird that they only have a little window to check-in and you can't enter the office, but that was fine with me. It just made me skeptical about the surrounding area, but I had no issues. The door knob to the r.r. did not lock, but not too much of a big deal for me. Door handle to the bedroom was a little loose, but also not a problem as it still did function. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean, the lady at the check-in window was friendly. I would stay there again for my next visit to SPI.

Property was nice. Clean. Kitchenette was not stocked so bring your own pots and pans. Staff was friendly for the most part except one incident with my daughter’s service animal. Overall decent property decent staff for the price
