Relax in style at this beautiful Gilchrist home featuring three balconies, a wraparound deck, and stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico! Start each morning in the fresh air with a cup of coffee watching the tide ebb and flow. When everyone begins to wake up, head into the full kitchen boasting stainless steel appliances and ample counter space for all of your culinary needs. When everyone is fueled up for the day, head out to the beach just steps from your back door and make a day of beachcombing and lounging on the sand!

When you enter the home, you will immediately be greeted by the living area and kitchen. Make your way upstairs and you will find a bedroom to the left with a king bed and an en suite bathroom. Head right and you will find the second bedroom with bunk beds. The third bedroom is to the left and offers a queen bed. The second suite offers the best view in the house at the end of the hall with a king bed and an en suite bathroom.

Secluded on the Bolivar Peninsula, in the small town of Gilchrist, you will be a few steps away from the beach! Discover everything this area has to offer, from local restaurants and shops to the Smith Oaks Sanctuary for some birdwatching! You will also be only 10 minutes from Crystal Beach. Fun Spot Water Slide is just a short drive away offering amusement for the whole family. If you don't feel like cooking, Stingaree Restaurant & Marina is a local favorite for seafood and home-style cooking!

Beautiful Beach House and Location
I would give this place a 5 star rating but there were no trash bags, no dishwashing soap, or laundry detergent available when we got there. Plus the front door lock became inoperable and we couldn't lock it up the whole weekend.

Not happy this time
When we first got there we noticed there was still alit of sand on the floor like they forgot to sweep, so we had to clean it up. Then went upstairs to the master bedroom and looked at the bed sheet, pretty sure they weren't cleaned because there was a long black hair stuck to the sheet also a beer bottle cap laying on the floor and the bathroom floor was sticky. We had 12 people staying and brought food to cook every night while we were there. The stove stopped working on Thursday and we called about it. They sent someone out on Friday to come check it out, they said they need a new stove. So then they told me they could bring me a conventional oven to help. I told them I could not cook for my family on this. Then they said they would credit me $25 dollars a day for every day it did not work. I told them I didn't think it was a fair credit, considering I brought all this food and could not cook it and then had to order out for 12 people. I do understand things break, I get it, but come on. They did credit me for 390. I really love this place and I will rent again as long as they replace that stove and get someone to clean the place alot better. We stayed here for 9 days total, May stay longer next time as long as they fix things. 😊 thanks

Great place if you're looking to get away
This beach house is huge! The decks are so beautiful and so roomy. Two bedrooms with amazing views. You are literally steps from the ocean. We truly enjoyed our time here.

Beautiful Spacious Home with great views of the Gulf Coast
Jordan's Sandcastle is our favorite place to stay and enjoy the Gulf Coast anywhere in Texas or most anywhere. Great views of the Gulf Coast from the living space and multiple bedrooms. Easy access to the beach and back and forth to the home. The owner is very responsive to any resource needed at all. Your family and friends will always remember staying at Jordan's Sandcastle on the Bolivar Peninsula!

Awesome Beach Front House
Beautiful house and so convenient to walk down to the beach. Huge charcoal grill right downstairs. We loved spending evenings and nights on the deck! Would definitely rent again!!!

Fantastic house, we enjoyed our stay. The house had Fantastic ocean views from almost every room in the house. This house was spacious and airy, very comfortable with easy access to the beach. Management could have done a bit better with cleaning the house or at least leave cleaning supplies and tools for guests to clean incase of spills etc. The oven did not work effectively, may need to be serviced and we couldn't locate a key to the lift so we had to carry everything up the stairs... The house also has enough room for more beds... Overall, this house was Great, would defn stay here again!

Beautiful House
Our family absolutely LOVED this house. It was the perfect size for us and the views were outstanding! I loved how the beach was pretty private in that area. We are already planning to come back next year! And bonus points for the rolling enclosure for the bottom deck!! We had 2 toddlers with us and they were perfectly safe on the deck without us having to stay on their heals around the stairs! Great house!

Amazing accommodations!
We really enjoyed staying in this home. The location was amazing, The house is very spacious and perfect for a few families. There are two masters with private bathrooms and the huge first floor is great for gatherings. The house sits right on the beach with amazing views from all decks. Great sunset views and perfect weekend! No complaints!

Perfect Location
We wanted a quick getaway for the family and we needed a home large enough for all kids. This was the perfect location right on the beach. Kids had a great time playing on the beach while we watched them from the deck of the house. House was clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Lots of room to spread out. Grocery store just a few miles away. We hope to come back during summer. :-)

Check in was pretty easy. Couple phone calls to get the key lock combo. Kitchen fridge was big enough. Showers were nice but we lost hot water our last night there. Didn’t have a broom or vacuum available to sweep up the sand on the floor. Views were great from the deck plus some loose nails. It was a good get away but I would not choose this rental again.

Not cleaned after repairs and painting
The house is amazing and great but the first floor was full of dust after repairing and painting, even a fan to dry the paint was on. After several phone calls, someone came to clean the mess. After those horribles hours, we enjoyed our stay but we never had the discount promised, even after contacting again the client support.

Grime on Stilts
Basically, the home was not clean, smelled of cigarette smoke, had not been swept, dusted, or wiped down. Drink ring remnants were still on the glass coffee table and a greasy film covered the counters, kitchen table, and fixtures. Then there were no cleaning products available to do the job correctly. Most of the sliding doors did not have screens - one of them that did was torn. The kitchen cabinet door pulls are all loose - the screws to install them are too long. One could not lock a door on the upper floor without going outside to push on the top and bottom to get them to latch - and then jump from one deck to the other deck to get back inside. The sink of the adjoining bathroom is clogged. It has taken a lot of cleaning to get the cigarette smoke out of our pillows and clothes that had to be dry cleaned. There are maintenance and cleanliness issues with this property.

Jordan's Sandcastle - what a great beach front Home on Texas Gulf coast
Our family loved our Texas Beach vacation staying at this home, Jordan's Sandcastle. We had 12 family members from wide ranging ages 5 to 77 and everyone enjoyed the essentially private beach in front of this great property at their own pace and liking. The multiple decks and great chairs are perfect for having conversations and overlooking the vast Gulf of Mexico and watch and listen to the calming, relaxing sounds of endless waves landing on Bolivar Peninsula. The sunrise views are perfect from this home every morning and provide daily reminders of appreciating life and existence in this wonderful universe. At night watching the vast night sky from the large decks is as good as it gets in Southeast Texas. You can see the Milky Way Dust with the billions of stars in the sky overlooking the Gulf and we saw shooting stars or meteors stream across the night sky most every night. You can tell the owners and the company the owners uses go all out to ensure the house is a very comfortable vacation HOME. The kitchen is large and has a lot of eating areas from the bar and the dining table area and has everything you need to cook and the refrigerator keeps the beer cold! The beds are comfortable and the bathroom showers are large and accommodating. The decks have great and comfortable chairs and benches, there are grills below the house and hoses in multiple areas to shower off and clean your beach stuff. We see there were comments about the smell of smoke odor. The owner advised they took the home off renting for a week and did a formal and thorough airing out and HVAC duct and filters deep cleaning. Our family did not notice any odors and had a very fun and pleasant stay not having any issues like seen in some comments. We look forward to staying at Jordan's sandcastle again, what a great home and top notch beach vacation experience on our great Gulf Coast!

Nice home but smells like smoke.
We had a wonderful family vacation at Jordan’s Sandcastle. The house was beautiful and only steps from the beach. The outdoor space was awesome, and we were so happy to see that there was a sliding gate for the deck steps as we had several little ones with us! It made it much easier to spend time enjoying the space without needing to worry about the stairs. As many reviews mentioned before, the toaster is broken, other than that, the kitchen had everything we needed for the week. The house seemed clean with the exception of lots of sand around the furniture in the living room. Our one complaint about the house is that it smells terribly of smoke. I had read reviews prior to our arrival and was very concerned as we were bringing little ones with us and have members of our party with asthma. I contacted Vacasa to confirm that this issue would be taken care of. They quickly informed me that the house was being cleaned and the carpets upstairs would be shampooed. That may have taken place, but it didn’t help. Even after a week, we could still smell it every time we came in from being outside. And now that we are home, all of our belongings smell like smoke. If you are sensitive to smoke, I would not rent this home. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, just wished the smoke hadn’t been an issue!

Beach Getaway
We really liked the location of home. Almost seemed like a private beach. Home was very comfortable. The deck was fabulous overlooking the water. Unfortunately home smelled strongly of smoke, notably immediately on entry. The fragrance plug ins placed around did not help and only made the smell worse. When we got home, our clothes, suitcases, etc still smelled of smoke. Would recommend making this a non-smoking home. I did notice other reviews stating the same thing and really should have heeded this. Kitchen could have been better cleaned. Stove top was still dirty. Toaster was broken. Ice maker not working. Pots and pans really worn. I felt I had to rewash everything before using. Several lights around the home were out. Housekeepers probably should check this at checkouts. The lift not working and apparently hasn’t for awhile. This made climbing the stairs with a load difficult. Definitely not handicap assessable! We did however enjoy our stay thankfully. Just couldn’t give 5 stars with these issues. For the fee per night at high end. I just expected to not have these issues.

Beachfront Fun
The house and location are wonderful! The house is so spacious and accommodated our family very well. The deck areas are large and I love that there is a gate for the main one so little ones are safe. There are a few things need attention. The kitchen could use more pots and pans with lids and more kitchen towels. The master bed is really comfortable, but other family members mentioned the other mattresses are not as comfortable and sagging in the middle. But overall, we REALLY enjoyed our family trip.

Roomy house with a great view
The house was very roomy and spacious. There were a few issues but overall we would rent this house again. All the bedrooms were comfy and we loved the 2 additional balconies coming off of the upstairs bedrooms. The shower in the Master bedroom is huge and the grandkids loved taking showers in there :) The AC worked great which is a definite plus when it is hot and humid outside. We go to Crystal Beach area every summer and we would book this house again.
