The pros: We were a very short drive to everything we wanted to visit in town (beach, shops, restaurants). Most things were even a short walk, which was great! The backyard was perfect for a fire and would’ve been nice even with a larger group than our family of three. The kitchen was also well-stocked with daily needs, and we didn’t need to buy any additional kitchenware. The couches were very comfy and the beds were nice.
The cons: The listing has Family Friendly listed which is a bit misleading as they had none of the items listed (kids’ dinnerware, toys, books, games). We messaged the host about it, and he was kind enough to offer to bring us children’s dinnerware, but really the main draw were the toys and games for kids. This led to us needing to go and buy books and toys at a local thrift store. Not a deal-breaking situation, but if the host is aware the family friendly tag is incorrect and cannot get it fixed, providing the items listed (even a few) would help with any future issues. If not, future guests please be advised this location isn’t entirely family friendly and you’ll want to bring plenty of toys and books. I think kids 13+ would do fine, but not younger.
The other big con (which the owner can’t do much about) is the park next door. Homeless folks camp there, and although they didn’t directly bother us, they did leave needles in the bushes outside—tying into the lack of family friendliness.
