"The hotel was in pretty good condition, very nice and clean. The only thing I would note is the shower water pressure is quite light, and it does take a good few minutes to become hot. "I've noticed that many hotels do not include a microwave, kettle, or refrigerator in the rooms. I opted for a hostel because of the access to a kitchen and other travelers to conversate with. The location is also very walkable from the city square and immerses you with the locals. "A budget hotel near the Plaza de Armes. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Decent free breakfast. Reasonably quiet. Showers were cool, not sure if we were doing something wrong as we didn’t check with the staff. Overall if your standards are ok with just the basics for a low price then this is good value for your $."

"My solo trip to Casa de la Gringa was the best gift I’ve ever given to myself! The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was bright, clean, comfortable, and had a lovely loft space perfect for meditating! "When I arrived with a friend I was told that we didn't have a reservation after the woman thought I was the one who booked & cancelled the room. We walked inside to resolve this issue but the place was filled with dogs and excretes. The woman couldn't find our reservation even though I clearly had the confirmation from hotels.com. she was very rude when we tried to leave to find a cleaner hostel. A guy was just staring at us with strange looks from the couch. I would not recommend staying here...

Excellent! Highly Recommend!

"Melinda and her staff are wonderful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone! And we would definitely stay here again if we come back. The breakfast and views were amazing. The room was so clean and everything worked without any issues! We couldn’t get the coffee maker to work, but I’m certain the problem was a user issue and not the coffee maker! ;) They had laundry service! Very affordable. They had a massage service, too. Although only room service only. So, they recommended a few and I went to the one just 5 min walk away and it was amazing! There are restaurants surrounding the restaurant also they recommended and they were all excellent! They had airport and train station pickup service as well, which makes everything so easy. The square was walking distance also. It was the best location. "

"Our visit was very enjoyable !! The staff was very attentive, when we arrived to pick us up at the airport and also provide with information about the tourism areas to visit, how they can facilitate with no obligation or feeling pushy. Also the breakfast is home made, they are so sweet and you can feel the warm welcome and care they make their breakfast with. They also mentioned that they like to make it very nutritious because they know that visitors have long days, and is true, it feels very healthy and made with love. Very clean and just overall a great experience for us. Victor was very attentive, Eliza and Miguel also very welcoming. Thank you so much! "
