The place was very clean and has been recently renovated, but still had a very historic feel to it. Emanuel, our host, was very friendly and gracious. I would have given this property 5 stars except there are two things to be aware of: 1) If you have a car, you need to park in one of the garages that are between a .1-.3 mile walk away. You also need to make a reservation on your own at the garage. We were not able to do this because the reservation needed a plate number. When we arrived the garage the property recommended was full. It is close enough to Florence for easy day trips - a car is recommended for convenient access to the property, but there is ample free parking in a nearby town to head downtown by bus. The spa services were easy to schedule with the friendly staff (definitely get a massage while you’re there) and the location was perfect. We were a ten minute walk from the city center and felt both close to everything and far enough away that we could pretend to be locals.
