Charming, rural, quiet: The Westerscheune captivates with its historic charm and the proximity to both the Baltic Sea (3 minutes by bike) and the nature reserve Geltinger Birk. Harmoniously, it fits into the overall system of the Ostseehof Langfeld - one of the last remaining half-timbered farms between Schlei and the Baltic Sea. Langfeld offers pure Bullerbü romance and is an absolute paradise for children near the beach. The Westerscheune formerly served as a hayloft, stable and shelter for the wagons. In 2014, it was renovated with much love for the historic details and converted into a residential building. The result is a unique mix of new and old. Real wood floors in oak and pine meet stainless steel kitchens and concrete worktops, old, pickled doors on iron windows, the historic brick floor in the threshing floor on a state-of-the-art fireplace.
This very individual blend of tradition and modernity creates a unique atmosphere. 10 people comfortably sleep in the five bedrooms with a total of three bathrooms. Sheets and towels are included in the price. The large kitchen and two living rooms offer many opportunities for retreat.
If required, a guest room (bunk room or old workshop) for 2 people with private bathroom can be rented in the neighboring cowshed. For modern standards provide television, stereo and wireless as well as the also located in the cowshed sauna with relaxation room and overlooking the lighthouse of Falshöft.
If you would like to accommodate larger groups, you have the option of renting three more buildings: the Backhaus, the main building and the Caecilienhof. A large function room for workshops, seminars and celebrations is also available and can be booked on request. The Geltinger bay is located near the Danish border in the middle of the fishing region, which counts with its hilly landscape, its yellow rapeseed fields and long beaches to the most beautiful holiday regions of Germany. Nestled between the Baltic Sea and Schlei fishing is far away from the tourist Baltic Sea strongholds.
Instead of apartment buildings, this is lined with thatched roof cottages, family houses, smaller and larger mansions. The beaches are but not overpopulated. The diversity of the landscape makes the area attractive. There is a wide range of riding, sailing and surfing courses in the area. The nature conservation beloved Geltinger Birk invites to extended hikes and bicycle tours. The Viking village Haitabu, the castle Glücksburg and many other attractions are worth a trip even in bad weather.
Beach vacationers come here as well as athletes, culture lovers, nature lovers, cyclists and hikers.
The mixture of tradition and modernity is also reflected in the interior design. Flea market and loft finds can be found next to practical new purchases. High-quality anitiquities, such as a corner cabinet from the 18th Century, in addition to modern lights. All rooms are clearly structured and yet very cozy. The greatest luxury that the Westerscheune has to offer is "lots of space" - especially in the spacious kitchen with its large fridge and long dining table. It is therefore the perfect retreat for larger groups or families.
