"We were driving from the UK to the south west of France and wanted somewhere to stay en route. What a wonderful surprise this place was. The house is a big, beautiful, old (really old!) property with very generous rooms and lovely ensuite bathrooms. The hosts are very welcoming and generous. Saintes - who knows why that big town is not more widely known as a tourist destination. Incredible architecture, lovely river walks, greta places to eat. And the best bit - we have 2 large excitable dogs...

"Séjour exceptionnel à tous les niveaux ! Les hôtes sont très chaleureux et accueillants. Chaque chambre a été décorée avec goût et détient un charme fou. La literie est top et tout est très calme et bien isolé. Le petit dej fait maison est excellent, varié et avec plein de petites attentions. Nous revenons chaque fois avec grand plaisir et vivons une belle expérience ! "

"The staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are alright too. But the location of the hotel is convenient only if the purpose of your trip is to visit the Cartoon Museum, which is around the corner. To get to the old town, where all the monuments, museums, churches, and restaurants are, you have to walk up a steep hill for fifteen minutes."
