Located in the coastal prairie minutes from the Pacific Ocean and the town of Point Arena. Plenty of privacy to launch into day trips and other adventures in this special corner of the world. The Octagon offers solitude, stunning views, bird watching, and walking trails on the property. We're 5 mins from town, restaurants, the cove, various beaches, tide pools, the historic lighthouse, fishing spots, and the B Bryan Animal Preserve where you can view African animals and hand feed giraffes. Come find what you've been missing!

Quiet but sparse
This place is as described. While you’re mainly secluded, the Octogon is relatively close to (what I’m assuming is) the owner’s house. The Octogon contains an air-mattress bed, and is sparsely furnished. But is clean, and smells of fresh-cut wood. The bathroom (toilet is a composting toilet,) is not connected to the octogon. The site does have two Adirondack chairs to lounge on outside. Good WiFi.

Overall I love the atmosphere and location. It was so peaceful and beautiful and we saw lots of wildlife. The building construction is very interesting too. That said, 240 a night to sleep on a blow up mattress and use a composting toilet is silly in my opinion. Not to mention you are asked to pack out "large trash" which seems to be anything more than a couple cans.

Fave stay
We have been traveling for the past 2 months, and this is our fave place. The area is beautiful, the space is truly one of a kind, secluded, quiet and surrounded with beauty. The space is great, so you can sleep more than two but would need to bring an air mattress. We had our foldable camping table with benches which came handy. The bed is very comfortable. Kim and Paul and really wonderful. Close to the B. Bryan Preserve, the amazing Pelican bakery and the Point Arena dock with restaurant and shops. We have created long lasting memories and had a memorable vacay with our young daughter and 2 dogs. We HIGHLY recommend this place.
