This near new property has everything you could want for your next holiday in Pohara.

Once you arrive, recover from the drive over the hill to some cool refreshments left in the fridge, especially for you. Your holiday has begun!

After a busy day exploring all that Golden Bay has to offer, forget the hustle & bustle and relax and take it easy in this warm & peaceful, well equipped holiday home.


The beach, shop, cafes and restaurants are a mere 2-3 minutes walk away. Takaka township is a 10 minute drive to banks, supermarket, restaurants and shops.


All towels and linen are supplied (including beach towels) and the beds will be already made up for you.


A fabulous place to come and relax in any season, perfect for a winter get-away as the weather is more like autumn, with mostly fine sunny days, and many choices for beautiful walks. Cosy & private ~ fully fenced for safety of the little ones, and with so many activities available within a short drive.

The beach is especially suited to families, as it is shallow until a long way out, perfect for children to play & swim safely.


Plenty of parking on the property, even room for the boat!

The fishing out from Pohara beach is excellent, with many varieties caught, including blue cod, snapper & gurnard, to name a few.



Check-in is AFTER 4pm, and we offer a more leisurely check-out of BY 10am. Please respect these times so we can have the property ready for you or the next guests.


We have every confidence you will love our holiday home retreat with the relaxed 'Kiwi Bach Feel' just as much as we do !!

While Pohara is extremely popular in the summer months, it is also the perfect location to visit in the autumn or winter, when the temperature is a little more comfortable and the area is not so busy.

Winter guests will enjoy the the new large capacity heatpump, to top up the warmth supplied by the sun during the day.

All in all, the perfect place to explore or chill, whatever the season. There really is no destination quite like Pohara!

Very comfortable and well-equipped home. A bottle of wine and a beer in the fridge were a nice treat after tackling the steep and windy drive up there. Our only negative is that we didn’t realize we had to do all of the cleaning, until we received the checkout info. Not sure how we missed that….

Well equipped bach near beach

We were very pleased with our stay here. This Bach has all amenities required and is nicely sheltered on a back session. Only 2 minutes flat walk to the beach, as well as Molly B’s and Ratanui Lodge for dinner which are even closer.

Absolutely perfect location and perfect set up for a family. Has everything you need. We adored this place and hope to return. Tip: No wifi so just load up your iPad/phone etc with downloads for the kids as data/phone reception is pretty patchy also.

Immaculate house in a stunning location

We booked this as our Christmas stop in our grand tour of NZ. The location was ideal (just two minutes walk from Pohara beach) and it was spotlessly clean with everything we needed (and more!) for our stay. We loved the BBQ and deck area, as well as being able to hear the sea all the time. Great eating out options nearby but the kitchen was really well equipped too. Thanks for a great family friendly holiday. The house was equipped with everything you need a high chair, porta cot, toys and dvds which was amazing! Only thing is the house was so hot at night, a fan or aircon unit would of just made the Bach perfect!
