"Stunning little hidden gem in the middle of the Matera sassi, the spa is among the best spas I have ever been to with a large warm 30 degree cave pool with multiple small pools and jacuzzi jets. There is also another pool with slightly cooler water and jacuzzi beds and then two different temperature saunas, steam room and relaxation beds. "I couldn’t check in for over an hour. They left me stranded. Door closed and no one at the desk. There was another gentleman also trying to check in. He told me he was there for business from Milano, he got annoyed, booked somewhere else and left. The lady finally showed up and blamed it on Expedia. The hotel is gorgeous, super comfortable and very clean.The location is perfect. Steps away from the piazza. I would book here again, next time I would call and make sure they’re at the desk before...

"This was a "blow the budget" trip for me and I was not disappointed. The hotel is built into caves and has fantastic views of the city and over the ford (you can walk over). My room (a cave in itself) was huge, a large jacuzzi in the centre (would likely accommodate 4 people) and a modern wet room at rear, decor and lighting was perfect. "We didn’t get the bottle of wine and we forgot to ask for it. However, the hotel, the room and location was stunning. Specially the people who work at the hotel, they were wonderful! All of them were kind and friendly. We even met the owner whom was very kind and attentive to all our needs. I’d come back for next time. Kudos to Giuseppe for his time and recommendations!"

"One of our favorite cities and hotels on our Italian vacation. The cave room is beautiful, clean and quiet with modern details. The shower is awesome and heated towel bars were a plus. Breakfast is very nice and they have a bar that opens in the evenings at 5. All is very convenient to walking the sasso. They will arrange for a cab upon arrival or departure if you're taking a bus or train, so reach out as the walk from the main city piazza is far with luggage. Great restaurants nearby."

"Let me start out by saying getting to the Hotel is not the easiest. The hotel will send you a message telling you to call when you get to the area and they will guide you in a GPS will not navigate inside the city. What the message should include is "Via Vittorio Veneto, 44, 70022 Altamura BA, Italy" this is the entrance. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the staff is friendly and helpful. Valet parking is very convenient. We were in room 102 for 5 nights. The bed mattress felt like we were rolling out of bed. There is a closet but limited drawer space for 2 people. The bathroom is large for Italy but again limited essential could use a few more towel bars and soap holders in the shower. I know I am an American used to everyday pleasantries. All in all we had a good time and would stay again if in the area."
