"We stayed at Le Castel for 2 nights during a trip to see the beaches of Normandy. The town of Bayeux is charming and the Normandy region is beautiful! Le Castel is conveniently located in town, and walkable to all the charming restaurants, shops, and attractions in Bayeux. My complaints fall with the lack of accessibility of staff. Nobody is there until 5pm for check in. I messaged the property to request check in at 4, or at least to see if we could leave our luggage, as we arrived by train...

You feel you have been invited into a well-loved French home for a visit. The breakfast was plentiful, with a fresh local treat each day. "Extremely pleasant family running a small, quiet property. Easy parking and a simple, but nice breakfast. From the front door it was a 100 meter walk to the middle of Gold Beach and a 1-2 km drive or hike up to the cliff top memorial over Arromanches. Perfect for our short stop during a self-guided exploration of the historic sites of Normandy."
