It says <<< Housekeeping is available once per stay >>>. I was assuming that my 5-day reservation wouldn't get my room being cleaned . I was O.K. with that. Everything pre-paid ... so only the tip for the housekeeping could be added but .... I have been asked 50 pesos per night for the cleaning of the room and that was COMPULSORY. I did manage to pay 100 pesos even without housekeeping. In fact, I should pay nothing. So! If you agree to pay those 50 pesos extra per night then the rooms are still very cheap for what we get.

Drab hotel in low rent district.
The feeling in and around this hotel is low quality. From the outside it looks like a little prison with bars surrounding it. It is in a very low rent district although that does not bother me and I did not feel it was unsafe. The room reminds you of a cheap motel . In my case the shower head was broken and spraying water everywhere and should have been already replaced. But I have to say the bed was very comfortable. The location is on the outskirts of town even though it is still readonable distance from the beach and malecon. Incredibly , the price listed at the check in for a one person basic room is 1250 pesos (65 dollars). I'm sure anyone who stays there gets a much better price online, like I did. I only paid 13 dollars a night but they did demand an additional 50 peso "cleaning fee" per night. For that price I would do it again but not if it was much more.

Don't go
Do not stay here. I have been in the area for a while and just needed a place to stay for a few days until my apartment was ready. Firstly they have a gate on the front door but do not give you a key so a few times I stood outside waiting for someone to let me in. The place was very old and had mold. There is way better places for this rate. I ended up staying with a friend and checking out early.

warning
The jail like bars in front of the hotel was a hint on what type of neighborhood I was in. I know that you get what you pay for. Ive never wrote a bad review before and that includes sleeping with bugs in a room. The only thing I can say positive about this place is the staff seemed friendly, air conditioning worked, they have English tv and no bugs. For the bad, I had to take off the shower head to take a cold shower, bathroom smelled, I asked for t.p. and had to seach for someone when she fixed the t.p. dispenser she left mud from her shoes all over the floor, WiFi was so weak I couldn't even send a email. No one spoke English. No big deal, I have Google translator. I asked to hang up some cloths to dry and he directed me to the laundry around the corner and I could see a clothes line on the roof. I stayed at a hostel the next night and will never book this hotel again. Sorry about the bad review. I had to warn the next traveler. Not worth the price for me.

How Not To Enjoy Playa Del Carmen
Oh, where to start. Pictures did not match room at all and if that were the only issue this review might have a minutely positive tone. The location said .6 miles from center of city. Not the case. We walked almost three miles to find this heap in a terrible location. Now onto the room, woohoo! The rooms have no doors. They have sliding glass doors with easily pickable locks, rather unsettling was that we found the desk attendant had entered our room upon leaving after settling in--although it appeared this was to unplug the tv and cable box we had plugged in upon arrival...creepy. Oh and the curtain leaves a gap so anyone can see inside the room right where you'd leave the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it was a portal for half the Yucatan's collective mosquito population due to a quite obvious and should have been fixed already--missing window pane! What joy! We spent hours killing mosquitos, spiders (on shower curtain), centipedes(on shower floor)!! Oh, toilet barely flushes, sink has no pressure, shower only has one heat setting: Antarctica...unless, and I quote from the desk attendant: leaving the water on for 5min (10 for me) for the water heater to wake up and work as it should. If you haven't clicked the back button yet, I'm hoping it isn't because you want to maintain some semblance of a budget: hotel takes cash up front, no cancel policy. We left after the first day and happily found a new hotel. PS a/c control broken. Curtains moldy.

Good value for the price
It was a very simple but good hotel room for the price and location, especially if using the room for bath and sleep only. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even being such a small hotel 24 hour reception was available. Good for single traveler.

Basic accommodations
First of all, I want to emphasize that this hotel offers basic budget accommodations. My room did not have a bathroom mirror or refrigerator. However, the wifi, bathroom and remote-control air conditioner all worked. One thing that was quirky about the shower was you had to go to the front desk and request the water heater be energized if you wanted to take a shower other than early in the morning. The area was safe but not the most polished. Note that this hotel is a long way from the beach and pedestrian mall, but this was not a problem for me as walking is my life-blood. Other people should consider this before booking. I would stay here again provided the savings was substantial.

Not great
Staff were ok but didn't speak much English. At check in money was automatically debited from my card instead of checking how I wanted to pay. I wanted to pay cash as it was pay on arrival so I wasn't happy when the transaction had to be refunded & took a few days for the money to go back onto my account. The bedsheets had yellow stains on them (both beds) & the throw looked like it had a blood stain on it. I'm lucky I brought my own sheets & pillow case to sleep on! Bathroom was small & run down, sink hanging off the wall & shower wasn't very clean when we arrived. We stayed 2 nights out of the 5 we paid for and went to stay with friends who had a nicer apartment. Area is really run down and I didn't feel safe walking around at night. Overall not impressed, would say it's more a 1 or 2 star accommodation.

La habitación es cómoda, pero no el servicio, además tienes que llegar a hacer otros pagos, como es el caso de limpieza. El baño deja mucho que desear. Por desgracia no lo recomiendo y no me volveré a hospedar en él. No es buena ubicación.
