Perfect Berkshire getaway!
We had a great week at the Plainfield House. Perfect for our family of 6! Daytime adventures chasing waterfalls and pond adventures, evening fires outside and games and puzzles inside. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay out of the way in the Berkshires!

Privacy near woods and pond!
We loved our stay! Hiking in the morning right outside the back door, sitting by the cozy fire when it poured rain, and cooking in the well stocked kitchen were highlights. There was 9 of us ( including one very happy pup) and it never felt cramped. Would happily book again next time we are in the area!

Excellent place for a quiet getaway
A group of 6 of us stayed for a long weekend for a quiet getaway playing board games. The place is well set up for these kinds of activities with several good hangout areas. The property manager was very communicative and accommodating. It's definitely in an isolated area, which was exactly what we were looking for!

A wonderful home
If I could give more than 5 stars for the location and the communication with the property manager I would ! This property was great, the hiking, the trails, the gardens, and all of the items available (kayaks, PaddleBoards, fire pit, etc.). Everything was as described, ready and easy to use. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.

Great house, beautiful location
House was perfect for an extended family gathering. Everything was clean and the house is very well equipped for cooking and outdoor activities. Proximity to hiking trails and cross-country skiing was great. Perry was very communicative and sent helpful information before arrival. Would definitely rent again.

Great, Quick Stay
Great, clean house. Close to Berkshire East for skiing. Nicely stocked kitchen and we loved the fireplace and ample wood. The exterior of the house has a great gazebo, pond and beautiful grounds. While we there in winter, we did not get to take advantage of all there was to do, so we will be coming back this summer with our young kids!

Spacious for Family Rendezvous
Spacious home, efficient kitchen with plenty of pots and pans, great fireplace and abundant firewood, lovely surrounds, overlooks a large pond with a walking path, very quiet, remote but easy to find, excellent electronics (for watching movies), open wifi (a bit slow but adequate), comfortable beds, large bathrooms, clean, well-loved and relaxed.

We had a great time
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Plainfield House. It gave us lots of room to spread out or sit together in the large Living Room as needed. It was fun picking late tomatoes from the garden for dinner. The house was a gracious old New England gal with just enough renovation to be comfortable and the kitchen big enough for several cooks at once. We definitely recommend it.

Terrific weekend
We totally enjoyed our Memorial weekend stay! The house was everything that was promised -- lots of space, beautiful setting, comfortable, well-equipped including games for the kids.Perry was easy to reach.I have bad knees so it was a little hard for me to get around the large but hilly yard and I needed help getting down to the pond. We all enjoyed a morning of kayaking, two afternoons at the sandy beach, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, and eating meals in the screened gazebo. My family went hiking around the pond. Bring bug spray if you go. We also enjoyed a day at Mass MOCA. Windows were hard to keep open, AC was slow. A delightful, easy weekend.

A great experience
We had a wonderful few days at the Plainfield House. Perry was easy to communicate with and responsive. The house was incredible well-resourced- lots of kitchen amenities, humidifiers, plenty of sheets, blankets, and towels. The highlights were the fantastic and really beautiful hiking right out the back door and spending time by the fire. We will definitely come back!

Comfortable and Relaxing!
Spent a wonderful weekend! The house is roomy and comfortable. It had everything I needed. The Manager was very responsive when I had a question. And the setting simply cannot be beat! We went on two fabulous hikes on nearby trails, stopped at roadside far stands and found a great local pizza place. Stargazing was amazing! I will definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it.

Restful and quiet
A wonderful spot if you’re looking to escape for awhile. The location is quiet, the house is large enough for a crowd without being crowded, and the kitchen was extremely well-appointed. Any comments while cooking of “oh, I wish we had …” were met with “never mind, found it!” The hosts were very communicative to make sure all was well. It’s a great property in a beautiful area of Massachusetts. After a day of exploring, it was wonderful to have such a comfortable place to come home to. Two thumbs way, way up.

large clean space
We enjoyed our stay very much, the house is large with many bedrooms. The kitchen and bathrooms are clean and well stocked. The manager was available for questions. The best part was the hiking trails out the back door, perfect for our dog to get out and enjoy. The only negatives: the property was not mowed when we arrived, and we thought they would come during our week long stay and did not. It got very long and since tick season is on us, we avoided the grass. I assume if we had asked the manager would have remedied this. The gas grill is out of service, and we were not made aware prior, and finally the house is on a bit of a busy road, if we had small kids running around I might have been nervous as there is no fencing. overall, we would stay again if in the area. Thank you Perry!

Great house, everyone we dealt with was friendly - could have been cleaner
My family and I (8 adults + a dog) had a great weekend at the house. It is a great house with plenty of room and plenty of amenities, including an excellent fireplace and plenty of wood! The grounds are excellent, with paths through a lush woods down to the lake. The beds were comfortable and the showers both has good water pressure. The one thing that was not great was the general cleanliness. The floors did not appear to have been mopped or vacuumed very recently, and there were random dirty tissues in various places, plus other things like that. Not entirely disgusting, but it could have very easily been better taken care of, and it would have made our stay A LOT more pleasant. Great bargain, though, considering everything else, so we really feel like it all worked out.

Quiet, peaceful location
If you're looking to get away from it all this is the place for you. Quiet and peaceful, surrounding by forest. We went in July, and the AC as well as fans kept us cool. The house, and front yard, is large and the bedrooms and both bathrooms spacious. A full kitchen, complete with a well stocked pantry of spices/oils allows you home cooked meals while away. Living room is comfortable with a sectional couch. 2 televisions, gaming system and a closet full of games and puzzles for all ages adds to the entertainment. A washer and dryer downstairs is available for laundry. The pond is a bit of downhill hike through the woods, so if you have mobility issues it's something to consider. But once you're down there, the pond is private, and peaceful and a good size for use of the kayaks and paddle board. A 3 minute drive around the corner is a small sandy beach we swam at. We explored one of hiking trails that led to a bridge, stream and a small waterfall as well as rock walls. Our host was wonderful, checking in with us to make sure to answer any questions we had.

A Piece of Paradise
My wife and I fell in love with the home and location! The home is spacious, The location was great, as it was about 30-40 minutes from everything we love in the area (Williamstown, Mohawk Trail, Jacob's Ladder, Kringle Candle, Deerfield, Northhampton, etc). We loved the layout and my wife particularly enjoyed the kitchen. We made great use of the fireplace during our stay. They have a keyboard and several acoustic guitars, which I enjoyed playing. The beds all featured comfortable mattresses (we only used the master bedroom, but checked out the other rooms in anticipation of a future stay with our extended family). The yard was fantastic, as well. The front yard was spacious and the pond provided amazing scenery from the windows. We loved the hiking trails off of the property. In our short stay, we barely had a chance to scratch the surface of all the possible trails literally right behind the house (there are two primary trails, but they go off in many different directions). There was not any cell phone reception, but the WiFi provided us with internet, so we were able to to text and call people (there is an active landline). The There isn't cable or antenna reception, but they have a Roku, which provides Netflix, Hulu, etc (we have one at home, so we were comfortable). The internet can be slow at times (Hulu frequently did not work), but a small price to pay for such a great home. If you drive 15 minutes West down 116, there are fantastic views to catch at sunset. Perry was very accommodating, as well. My wife and I cannot recommend this place enough!
