So quiet, so calm, very restful area, but not boring--plenty to do! Finding gopher turtles and their nests with our son & his toddler, riding on the (provided free) "moto" as our grandson called the golf cart, all up and down the roads. It's a small, very tidy and friendly community, but with miles of roads if you love checking out beautiful beaches and the beach homes near them. We could walk to several beaches and more by golf cart. Beautiful tall palms and other tropical/subtropical lush vegetation. An elite but environmentally responsible community. The house is WAY NICER, both outside and in, than the Feb. 2022 VRBO photo showed!! Beds are comfy and linens nice. It's an ISLAND, that's both good and bad, serene-- but you have to take a $55 roundtrip ferry (car) or $10/ea (ferry walk-on) to leave the island, and there are no shops , One restaurant (good but busy b/c it's at a private resort) & a little "commissary" for ice cream & a very few essentials like sunscreen/yogurt/snacks,etc. Beaches are decent (but not the finer sand, volleyball, etc you will find at Siesta). Equipment at the house is minimal: 1 adult sized & 2 smaller beach chairs (even though it will sleep 9!), 2 great beach mats. Kitchen is small & minimally equipped, but was OK for us. King bdrm/bath suite with bunkbeds is upstairs via SPIRAL STAIRCASE. We had a great time. Would like to have explored Englewood for great food/entertainment. But if you're looking for a REAL REST, and reconnecting with family, strolling, beaching, THiS IS YOUR PLACE, it's delightful!!
