Just stayed a few days to check out Placencia. Chabil Mar made a good base to launch from. They had an hourly shuttle into the village, and Lacho, the driver was great at finding you anywhere

Place is very peaceful. Even though it was fairly busy it always felt quiet. It is close enough to walk into town but far enough to not deal with the kookiness of town. Staff was amazing. Food was better than most restaurants we went to in town.

One of the most amazing places I've ever stayed at. It was quiet clean and super friendly. It was like we had the whole place to ourselves. The bed was incredible. The ocean was 30 feet from our door. I would live there if they let me.

Wonderful stay. Basically on-call butler service during daytime hours for food. The staff, especially the bar staff, were friendly and accommodating. Quiet, but still able to have fun activities. Our stay at chabil mar was incredible. The resort was immaculate and quiet. It has two beautiful pools and a quaint dock. The beach was kept up very nicely. The resort was maybe a kilometer away from Placencia but they offered a free hourly shuttle and complimentary bikes. We were even able to kayak into town on the free kayaks! The resort might be a bit pricey but for the luxury it was definitely worth it. Excellent place for weddings! They have very big rooms with well appointed kitchens.

A beautiful and intimate resort on the Caribbean. The staff is absolutely wonderful and the accommodations were just perfect. Left Placencia wondering when we could come back. My room furniture was too dark, and the curtain did not fully close. The carpet was a hazard. The staff service was excellent. There were too many trees. I felt like I was in the jungle.

Amazing trip to Chabil Mar
A really wonderful hotel, I'm so pleased we came here. When we arrived I was surprised at how wonderful the room was - a big kitchen with loads of appliances, there was even a washer and dryer which was hugely appreciated after several weeks of travelling. There was even coffee and little bottles of rum waiting for us! The pools, the beachfront, the beautiful garden, the lovely staff, everything was wonderful! The only moment we weren't very happy was on the first day when we were woken up at nine by the reception calling to see if we wanted housekeeping - we were exhausted when we arrived and needed to catch up on sleep, so that was frustrating. Then the same day a woman came round to the room to give us a hotel newsletter and walked right into the room when she saw us standing in the kitchen behind the bar (we were in our underwear and it was uncomfortable). We asked them not to call or bring us the 'newsletters' any more and they respected our wishes so it was easily remedied. Would definitely come back.

Beautiful Resort. Staff was more than excellent. Natalie checked us in and let us change to a better view room at no charge. Large 1 bedroom villa with ocean view. Big kitchen fully stocked. Pools were lovely. Perfect water temp. Room service food the first night was good. Had the lobster pasta. Last couple of days we ordered food and it wasn't quite as good as that first night. My husband and I cannot say enough about what an incredible stay we had at Chabil Mar Villas! They truly roll out the red carpet for their guests. Our villa and the grounds were meticulously maintained and clean. The pools, the pier, the beach, and our porch were all ideal spots to hang out and enjoy the day. We explored restaurants in town, but decided that our favorite was Cafe Mar - the on-site restaurant. They delivered drinks and food wherever we were on the property. The drinks from the bar were all freshly made with high end liquor. They set up multiple excursions for us that were a ton of fun and the shuttle service to and from the airport and into town in the evenings was a great bonus. They bent over backwards to make our stay special and it showed in everything they did. We truly had a 5 star experience. Highly recommend!
