Eclectic Historic Sunny Vista Home with City Views, Northshore

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This wonderful home is in the community of Pittsburgh’s best kept secret, historic Fineview. Enjoy magical sunsets and fireworks displays right from the front yard. This home has views of PNC Park and the North Shore It is just minutes to Downtown, AGH, North Shore dining and activities. Easy access to I-279 and the parkway. Get your exercise on the nearby fitness trail, recreation area or explore beautiful Riverview Park.

From the house you will be able to walk out the front door and down the street onto the scenic overlook of the city. The home is in Fineview, a quiet residential neighborhood.

It is close to the local Carnegie library, several pizza/sub shops, and other unique eateries. The house is within driving distance of full-service grocery stores, drug stores, coffee shops, dry cleaners, gas stations, restaurants, bars, and other night life, however, all of these types of establishments are within one or two miles. Unique to the area is the local Bread Works for delicious artistry breads.

The house is close to the Pittsburgh Children's Museum, the Andy Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Science Center, the National Aviary, PNC Park, Acrisure Stadium (Heinz Field), and other Northshore amenities.

There is a wonderful outdoor recreation space at the top of the street. The access is free for everyone to use.

Explore the fitness trail just down the street or the woods at nearby Riverview Park. Created in 1894, the park predates the City of Allegheny’s annexation to the City of Pittsburgh in 1907. Formed largely from farmland, today’s Riverview Park is known for its dense woodlands and steep topography. The park’s extensive network of trails invites hikers, joggers, and the occasional horseback rider into the woods. The park is also home to the landmark Allegheny Observatory, a visitor’s center, a swimming pool and activities building, the natural beauty of the Mairdale watershed, and the popular two-mile Riverview Loop. Residents enjoy the park's pool, playground, ball field, shelters and summertime concerts and movies.

There are an extensive choice of trails to choose from if you like to hike or mountain bike. The terrain is hilly with a wide variety of flora and fauna. The park is rich in wildlife so don't be surprised to see deer, possum, raccoons, turkeys, ground hogs and the occasional fox at night. The wildlife is very docile and are used to being around people. Please remember that although they are gentle, their personal space needs to be respected.

Good rest!
We checked in late and checked out early for home, and did not have any time to check out all the amenities. Our goal was a hot shower and a comfortable bed, and Lisa’s place provided.

Clean!
Very close to everything but not by foot. The hills to the house are steep! Most attractions are within just a couple of miles. Fantastic view! Clean and the host was quick to respond.

Was in town for a concert at the Roxian Theater. Made a long weekend of it and brought our dogs. Property was perfect for our needs. Very eclectic with lots of character. Close to everything including Riverview Park for hiking with the pups. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Nice house, quiet neighborhood!
The house was clean and perfect for a couple’s getaway for a football game. Great and quick communication with the owner. One side note for persons with issues when climbing stairs: The stairway leading to the second story is a bit steep. Not an issue for us, but it may be one for someone else. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Great Location
First off the Host was super helpful and nice. Answered any questions I had very promptly. The house was nice and comfortable. It was in a great location no more than 8-12 mins from anywhere we wanted to go see.

Expect a stay in a beautiful 1800's home
We were not expecting the very tall and narrow stairs to the bedroom and only bathroom. People with adaptive needs should be aware. It is a lovely visit to the past, beautifully decorated. Owner was very responsive!

A Week in Pittsburgh
The property is absolutely lovely and the view at the end of the block is spectacular, and makes you realize why Pittsburgh is considered one of the prettiest cities in the country. The driving takes some getting used to, and a tablespoon of courage helps. There’s no stores or restaurants closeby. That’s the only drawback. We used Doordash until we figured out the routes around the area. It’s actually a handy location once you get oriented. Thank you for your hospitality. We’ll almost certainly be back next year.

Comfy home in great location
The home is up the hill from historic Mexican War Street. There is a very nice park nearby, where you can walk your dog. Nice neighborhood; in the evenings a local drill team was practicing (fun to watch), people sit outside and were very friendly when I was out walking my dog. Lisa was quick to respond when I had problems with the digital lock. The home is very comfortable and I would consider staying there again.

Clean and Friendly
We had a wonderful stay at this home. While the home is older the interior was clean and very spacious. Lisa, the homeowner, was very friendly and available when we needed her. The home is conveniently located near many attractions on the North Shore. We would be happy to stay here again.
