Beautifully situated in a panoramic position in the heart of the Garfagnana, 1 hr 15 mins north of Lucca, Rustico Chiozza is a newly renovated house with its own pool, which is fenced and gated for security.

The house which is on 3 storeys, has been sympathetically restored with some beamed ceilings, exposed internal stonework and traditional flooring.

Situated a 15 minute drive from the market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. The closest village is that of Chiozza which is a 5 min drive away and has a shop, bar and restaurant.

Just over 3.5km away is the busy village of Pieve Fosciana with all facilities except railway station which is at Castelnuovo. There are a couple of very good restaurants at Pieve Fosciana and plenty in Castelnuovo.

Up in the hills and only a 15 minute drive from the mountain peak village of San Pelligrino, this is a perfect place for those looking for a very peaceful holiday with lots of walking opporunities.



On the ground floor there is a small living room with SAT TV, DVD, and CD and a utility room with washing machine.

On the first floor there is a large kitchen/diner with great views, open fireplace, eating space for 6. Kitchen is fully equipped with oven, 5 ring hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, along with a twin bedroom and shower room. The kitchen area leads out to an eating terrace.

Up wooden original staircase (not ideal for toddlers/small children) on the second floor there are two double bedrooms with wonderful views and beamed ceilings.

Outside there is a large open space/garden, with panoramic views over the mountains and a private pool of 9M x 4M which is gated for safety. BBQ. Pizza oven

Beautiful and peaceful setting in the Tuscan hills
Old Tuscan cottage in a beautiful and peaceful surroundings. You have to take many hairpin curves to arrive at the place of destination, but the view is more than rewarded. The owners were very friendly and nice and spoke English. In the surrounding area were various sportive activities to do for our children (22, 20 and 17 years old). Cities like Lucca, Pizza and Florence by car we have visited.

Amazing Views
The photographs don't do the property justice. The views are breathtaking. We had a fabulous holiday holiday at this house mainly relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. There is a great Pizzeria just two minutes drive away at Chiozza and the nearest supermarket about 15 minutes drive. We loved the area visiting Pisa, lucca, Florence and the coast up to Cinque Terre. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this house.

very relaxing
This was our 1st trip to Italy. We had a fantastic week here, family of 4 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 15. Kids loved the pool and wifi. Lovely weather helped! Used the bbq a few times but didn't try the pizza oven. The approach to the house is up a long winding road, if hiring a car a small one would be easier to manoever up the roads. We was a little sceptical about the pictures but can confirm that the view really is that great. The owner and his family greated us on the 1st night and returned mid week to do the necessities with the pool. Would definitley recommend

A place were time stands still.
We stayed for 2 weeks with children 8 and 14 and had seeked out a place were space, privacy and absolut freedom of how to spend the time - this was the goal. The property and area is ideal for nature lovers, with countless observations to make. Many animals come to the house, with beautiful flowers and trees. The view is spectacular ! The house is really old, clean and has modern features. It is never the less rustic - in a charming way, but best for people who enjoy living for a while a little like in the olden days. You can bake in an ancient Pizzaoven, harvest fruit and walk on century old floors. If you love to get away from it all - this is the place!

beautiful place
We had a wonderful holiday in the beautiful house in pieve fosciana! We were there 2 weeks with our children of 18.16 and 12 years old. The house is beautiful and fully equipped, nice Italian, good beds and it is in a fantastic place. We found the total privacy wonderful. The children were in the pool from early in the morning until late at night. Because we were so well entertained in and around the house we only went in the morning to a village or town (lucca, pieve fosciana, castiglione) or to a cozy market in the area. In the afternoon swim and play games with each other. The environment is beautiful, you can not get enough of the view, delicious with a glass of wine in the evening sun. In the area you can also enjoy hiking. When we were there it was pretty hot, so we especially enjoyed the house and the pool. Nice that there is also a washing machine in the house. The children thought it was the best holiday we have ever had! We came home comfortably equipped with new energy. But also homesick for this beautiful place in this great country.

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit! Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Ausblick ist spektakulär, man kann sich nicht sattsehen. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Man sollte sich aber gut verstehen, da es sehr hellhörig ist.

Spectacular Views
We had a great relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of tourist spots. The area is really amazing if you are looking to escape from it all. Alessandro and his family were very accommodating for any requests we had. The kids loved the pool (aged 14, 11 and 9) even though it was only waist high. The views from the pool were out of this world! The traditional farmhouse was very clean upon arrival and well equipped. We didn't get to see wild deer but we did have a regular bird of prey circling in the nearby fields and the kids got to see a real scorpion towards the end of the holiday! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a unique vacation stay.

Spectacular Views
We loved our stay so much we are definitely returning next year. The views are more spectacular than they show in any photograph - seeing is believing! We had a pair of deer come to the edge of the very large garden every night at twilight, and if we stayed still and quiet they came pretty close. Amazing. Stunning location
Beautiful property, you have to be careful on the wooden staircase and be prepared for insect visitors of a night time, and you must wear shoes when crossing the grass to the pool as there are many bees in the heather, but other than that the house is heaven. It's in a stunning location with views to die for, the pool was fabulous and the house was fantastically well equipped. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and loved every second. Highly recommend the pizzeria in Chozzia as well!

Lovely house in a stunning location
The house was set in the most stunning location, the views were incredible and make the house worth renting on their own. The house is a nice traditional property, it is very well equipped and has everything you might want on your holiday, the pizza oven was a lovely bonus and had lots of areas for relaxing. The pool was great for the kids and will plenty of land around the house there was lots of room for our children (4 & 7) to explore.

Romantic and rustic retreat
We stayed here just for one week to get away from the hussle and enjoy some rest. The place is very quiet and idyllic: old cosy home where everything you could need was available .The owner and his family were very friendly and helpfull, and cleaned the pool an extra time. The view on the mountains was superb, and we saw indeed deer at night in the garden (which is huge, lot of privacy). Wifi at the place was very good. We didn't explore the enviroment too much because we wanted to be more on the pool side with a book than driving all day in the car, but lots of destinations in Tuscany are well at reach by car. Unfortunately we decided to leave 2 days earlier because of the expected wind/rains, but that din't anyway had to do with this location or the care by the ownwer. Thank you Alessandro, we will recommend your place.

Very nice stay at Rustico chiozza
We, a party of 3 adults and 3 teenagers, enjoyed our stay for a week very much. The house, an old farmhouse, is well restored and few original details have remained (including wooden floors wich is a bit noisy but we didn't mind) The house is very well equiped (tv, wifi, washing machine, dishwasser. 2 ovens, BBQ, terrace chairs and tables, pool toys etc). We liked the quiet place with the beautyfull view of the mountains from the private terrace and the (fenced) swimming pool !. There's enough room for everyone, Each sleepingroom has enough space for the clothes etc.The owners are very friendly and helpfull (we could call them; once we had to and we're helped very quickly) The nearest shops are 15 minutes drive away. The road to the house looks rather small but we get used to it with our MPV. Perhaps the wooden stairs to the second floor are difficult for elderly and/or disabled people but there's a bedroom with 2 single beds on the first floor (only one solid stone staircase).

Amazing Views!
The cottage is traditional and rustic and had plenty of character. It was clean and we had plenty of kitchen equipment on hand throughout our stay. The owners thoughtfully left us a welcome gift of wine and fruit which was much appreciated. Our only criticism was that the satellite TV was restricted to Italian programmes but even then it added to the World Cup atmosphere listening to the football commentary in Italian. The owners were very helpful throughout our stay and even recommended an excellent restaurant in nearby Chiozza. Our cottage was half way up a hill and the views from the cottage were fabulous. We just loved sitting out and appreciating the marvellous mountain ranges in the distance. It even inspired us to tackle them during our stay. Outside, the kids loved the swimming pool and table tennis and playing in the extensive gardens. We enjoyed the aromatic plants and watching the fireflies each evening. For the views alone, we would thoroughly recommend Rustico Chiozza for an unforgettable Tuscan holiday.

What a great house!
If driving in the mountains doesn’t bother you and you appreciate: • the great nature, • tranquility • privacy • a beautiful and never boring view • very nice swimming pool • spacious and authentic house with lots of good facilities We highly recommend this accommodation. We spend 2 weeks with our family (4 children (9, 11, 13 and 14) 2 adults) at this lovely place and we enjoyed it very much. We made some nice trips to Castelnuova di Garfagnana, Grotte di Vento, Carrara, Viarechio, Lucca, Pisa, Barga and Florence. We did hiking in the mountains which are very nearby and does provide great views on the Garfagnana and the Mediterranean see. Reinier den Ouden, Bodegraven, Netherlands
