"We loved our stay at Effect Lodge. Our room overlooked the back side of the property, including the pool. Great views and an open feel in our large room. The host was so gracious and helpful. She recommended public transportation for our visit to Old Lyon, and it worked out perfectly. She also provided direction in getting our laundry taken care of. In many ways, staying at Effect felt like being at home. Highly recommend this property!"

"Upon arrival, we were told to open the large gates leading up to the driveway of the house. The gates were what I can only describe as something you would see at a 'haunted' house in really poor condition. Our first impressions were not great as the accommodation appeared very old and run down. As we approached the house, the ground were extremely unkempt: overgrown, unclean pool and the tennis court area had seen better days. As we opened the main door, we noticed the wallpaper in the hallway...

Offered extra rooms, after the sleeping arrangements were terrible, we were then threatened to be billed extra to VRBO, somehow... The rooms had uncomfortable beds and barely a sheet on them, and towels were hard and ancient. Two cots were inadequate for adult use and the room had massive cobwebs everywhere. "The website said that the location was "Behind the Maire in Savigny". We came off the A89 to head south to Savigny. After traversing many farm tracks and minor roads eventually ending up at Savigny. We could not find the address there behind the Mārie and in desperation rang Madame Boisel for directions from the centre of Savigny.
