"We loved our very private three bedroom + three bath, two story apartment in this historic castle. It is spacious, beautifully furnished. And it has its own tower. The patio with arbor and view was a great place to dine. Staying here was a highlight of our trip. A good base from which to make day trips (Siena, Florence, Montepulciano). We were made to feel welcome."

"Ok, it's not exactly medieval living... It's better! The Medieval family who built the castle that once was attached to this tower didn't have indoor plumbing. This gem has all the modern conveniences (including indoor plumbing, a kitchen, 1 1/2 bathrooms, heating and air conditioning) while being tucked away in a quaint little commune (Pratovecchio-Stia). "This is a life memory. You will never stay in a hotel like this again. I selected it because it looked really different and fun. My expectations were met. It was really incredible. I don't know who thought it all up, but it is fabulous. Great location, friendly staff, clean, fun!!"

"Hotel Calimala Firenze was probably one of the best hotels nested in the heart of Florence. My family of four was traveling Italy for 11 days during last Christmas holiday. We chose to stay at Hotel Calimala from 12:25-12/27. If you have a chance to stay at this property, please choose it without any hesitation. We reserved 2 bedrooms next to each other ( one room occupied by my 13 and 15 yr old sons). We stayed at a deluxe bedroom and everything was perfect. Welcome gifts and bottled water were served daily. We also had great amenities offered in both bedrooms. Breakfast was great and plentiful. House keeping was provided daily. Hotel staffs were very professional and courteous. Also everything is in walking distance. Uffizzi Museum was only 3 minutes away, shopping centers and restaurants were just minutes away, and even Duomo was only 4 minutes away. We plan to return to this property again in near future when visiting Italy. "
