Island View Cottage sits in a small fishing village overlooking Malaga Island and Casco Bay and provides a luxurious spot along the Maine coast to relax and unwind. You can be among the first to enjoy this professionally designed and newly built, air-conditioned cottage that is completely powered by the sun. One-level living makes it suitable for all ages – from crawling babies to folks who would prefer a place where they don't have to navigate stairs. And being at the end of a private lane, you can count on solitude and a chance to truly decompress during your visit.
At one end of Island View is a gorgeous great room with a cathedral ceiling. Loads of windows open to wonderful breezes and views of the bay and nearby islands. Settle into comfortable seating to relax, watch a movie, or read a book in the living area. When the evenings get chilly, the glow and ambience of the gas fireplace will welcome you home after a busy day. The partially covered deck off the living area gets you even closer to the shore and is a restful place to sit with your morning coffee. If you're an early riser, you can watch many of the local lobstermen set off for the day's haul. After dinner, you can sit in those same chairs and enjoy the sunset. The dining alcove seats six for meals and can easily convert to a work area with high-speed internet for anyone who needs to check in with the office while away. The spacious kitchen includes lots of storage, a full compliment of all you need to cook up a feast, a large island, dishwasher, and beautiful granite surfaces.
At the other end of the cottage is the master bedroom with a queen bed, television, and an en suite bathroom with dual sinks and tiled shower. A huge walk-in closet allows you to actually unpack instead of living out of your suitcase. In the center of the house are two more queen bedrooms and a second full bathroom. The great room and each of the three bedrooms has its own individual heating and cooling unit.
A pack 'n play, high chair, and baby gate are available to accommodate your smaller family members. Beach chairs and umbrella, a cooler, and a bag full of beach toys are also on hand for your trips to Popham Beach, Head Beach, or Totman Cove Preserve. The cottage does not have a washer/dryer, but most guests are able to pack enough for a week's visit. There are also two laundromats in Bath if you're here for a longer stay. A pass to Popham Beach State Park is included with your stay. Bring your own kayaks or rent from Seaspray and have them delivered to the cottage. If you’re just starting out, nearby Sebasco Harbor Resort offers lessons to get you acclimated.
