This hotel was decorated in an attempt to appeal to a younger generation; it felt patronizing. The large photos, in the elevators, of historical figures with paint drips coving them was the tackiest thing I’d ever seen. Staff was few and far between (from what we saw/experienced with waiting at the front desk and waiting for more towels/blankets), Valet was never around when needed, room was small, bathroom even smaller, water took FOREVER to get hot, towels were THIN, and the TV was super glitchy. The view would have been nice if the windows were clean and I could have seen out of them; at least half an inch of dirt on there. Pick any other hotel around, in the same price-range, and it will be WORLDS better.

Wonderful views. Unbeatable location right at the center of downtown with shopping, restaurants, history all around it at walkable distances. Easy access to bus service as well. Overall a warm space with a very welcoming and cozy hotel lobby. The staff are remarkably helpful and all interactions with them leave you with a smile. The gym and the bar are a great amenity too.

Checking in around 7 took some time. The valet was not clear on who he was so I had to go inside and ask what to do. Then there was one person working the desk so I had to wait longer to check in as well. It took about 15/20 minutes which feels a little long when no one else was checking in at the time. Otherwise the hotel was fine, very central location and the rooms were good.

This hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the city as a tourist. The majority of attractions are within walking distance, and the nearby Reading Market was perfect for a variety of meals. The rooms were were a good size and well set up. The area around the hotel does have a lot of homeless people, but that seems to be a common problem in this city, and none of them caused us any issues. My only negative comment about this property is several unhelpful and unfriendly dealings with front desk clerk D, but everything else about our stay at Aloft was great.

Room not cleaned by 4:00 pm. We asked for this to be done as quickly as possible and to allow time for it went for a walk even though we had been our all day. An hou later we came back, room had been visited but the only thing done was to turn up the bed sheet. Used paper cups left where they were, bins not emptied, towels not replaced…When I spoke to the manager at the desk he asked me what I wanted him to do. I gave up, glad that I was leaving the next day. I don’t blame the staff, I think they are most likely over-worked, they have my sympathy but I wouldn’t go back there anytime soon.
