From the expansive lawn the front door opens into the living space, with underfloor heating and in the sitting room area a log stove too. The well-equipped kitchen is colourful and expressive, and the dining table sits under a high ceiling in front of the huge window, casting light throughout and offering fantastic views.
Up the spiral stairs, the bedroom has an internal balcony that looks down to the living space below. There is a super king (6’) bed and in-room roll-top bath, with a separate shower room/WC tucked behind a hidden door. To the other side of the bed is a hidden dressing room/nursery, and a large wardrobe.
Outside, a large open lawn looks across the valley and a wild meadow towards Petworth House and the pretty town. Whilst there are countryside footpaths in the area, the lodge retains a feeling of remoteness that is rare to find elsewhere. For your peace of mind and privacy the adjacent second lodge cannot be booked separately. There is a small bothy (a tiny one-bedroom home) which can be booked separately, however this is to the other side of the lodges and does not overlook your accommodation. LOCAL AREA:
It is 2 miles by car or a 1.5 mile country walk into the centre of Petworth, best known as the location of the stately home Petworth House and its vast deer park. This old town is quintessential old England, small streets lined with cottages, antique shops, tearooms and restaurants. There are two pubs about a miles’ walk from Leconfield Lodge, and Petworth town has some fine eateries. There’s a well-stocked Co-op here, or larger Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s supermarkets in Pulborough.

- Accessibility: Gravel drive 20m from the property, with a 10m flat path to the main entrance (10m walk over grass to the side entrance). One step (15cm) over the front door threshold. Spiral staircase (with banister and standard risers) to the bedroom and shower room/WC on the first floor, low step (2cm) into the walk-in shower. - Utility/laundry room (adjacent building, available during your stay): washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, clothes airer and iron/ironing board. Please note this is also used for storage by the owners and we offer it to guests for the laundry facilities only.
- Due to the property’s remote location, there is external CCTV installed and a security alarm. There is no internal CCTV inside the buildings.
- Free private parking is available on the driveway behind the house, with space for 2 cars.
