Disappointing experience
My wife and I booked the apartment as we needed somewhere to stay over the Christmas period because we were visiting and looking after an elderly relative.
I had some concerns over the check-in process, as it was different to every other company I've used and, despite a direct message to the apartment owner, I received no response from them at all. However, everything actually went OK.
The property was conveniently located for our needs, even if the outside was scruffy and badly maintained. The main problem was that the apartment was dirty: there were cobwebs clearly visible in every room; the hard floors in every room needed a sweep/vacuum as there was dust, hair and in the bathroom, there was what appeared to be a roll-up cigarette filter. The tops of the furniture needed dusting. The dishwasher was still full after the previous occupant had left, leaving some glasses that, although washed, contained stale, dirty water. There was no tea towel or dish cloth in the kitchen. The door to the walk in shower had been removed and was resting against the wall and radiator in the bathroom! Also, there were no instructions on how to use the central heating, but there was a warning not to touch the boiler settings. The sofas were very uncomfortable.
It's a shame, really, because the apartment itself was potentially really nice (though in need of a spruce up with a lick of paint), the kitchen and TV were good.
All in all, for the cost of around £130 per night, it was disappointing.
