week -end break
We had a family room( although there was only two of us ) which was clean and spacious but decor rather tired and no drawer units for clothes and certainly no extra luxuries like phone, shower gel biscuits etc- so very basic indeed..Smell of damp in staircase which was rather off putting and feel it is run on a very tight budget which really shows and does nothing to enhance the Travelodge values. .Gael at reception has to be commended-she was very friendly and helpful at all times and her local knowledge was brilliant and a pleasure to talk to.Toby Carvery next door was excellent serving good value food lunch times and evenings although we were never there for breakfast so can not judge. Altogether an OK hotel good location but badly in need of upgrade but would go back As the saying goes you get what you pay for.!

Perfectly decent accommodation for the price paid
Contrary to previous reviews , I found the reception staff to be extremely helpful and very friendly . Despite being a new member of staff , the receptionist was courteous and went out of her way to try and assist us in getting an early check. Other reviewers have complained about the lack of additional facilities , such as luggage storage etc. I think these are services one would expect from a hotel and this is a budget priced lodge which fulfils all of the necessary criteria . Our room was clean , had adequate bedding and towels for 2 adults and two children and was comfortable. I would agree that the general building and decor is a little tired but not dirty or unserviceable . If you want a perfectly decent room for an overnight stop or short break then this place is good value for money. If you want more services or intend to spend most of your day in your accommodation then perhaps you need to spend a little more on a higher grade hotel . I would stay again

Great hotel for families and couples alike
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Staff were friendly and the restaurant/bar next door was very welcoming. There is no lift available at this hotel and we had to carry our case up stairs. We later found out that there is a back door in the car park which we could have used to bring our case into the room without using the stairs. No one advised us at check-in.

Tired hotel
I have stayed at a number of Travel Lodges in the past including this one. The problem was no one thing but a number of smaller issues, namely, no batteries in the TV remote, no soap available in the bathroom, the sink plug hole had no grate over it so some items could have fallen through. I also do not like breakfast out of a box.

Ok but missing things
The room was ok with good beds (most important part) but the bathroom was missing hooks to hang the towels. The room was specious.
